Jamie's dad, Bryan, is my first cousin, but I was much closer to Jamie in age (I just turned 31). I haven't seen Jamie in years, but I'm still in shock about this. I live near Nashville and haven't heard about this on the news at all. You'd think this make headlines. So, so sad if that's how he went.
Bryan needs a lot of prayer. His mother, Jamie's grandmother, also passed away in March. So he's lost his mother and son in less than 6 months' time.

It's James not Jamie, several people have called him Jamie. His name is James Temple. Or DUDE as many people know him. RIP Dude

Has anyone seen this on the news? or in a newspaper? I can't believe a murder right here in bg and no one is reporting it!

It was suicide. If he had been murdered it would have been in the news. Still a senseless tragedy though.

I am so sorry to hear about James. However he died, it is a terrible loss. I really feel for his family. I know what it's like to loose a child. My child was 23, it is the worst loss I think a parent or sibling can have. I will pray for his family and I hope all of you on this forum will do the same. You never stop missing them. God bless his family and friends, please be kind to others, we never know who may be gone tomorrow.

Friend in BG, he was known in our family as Jamie. Childhood nickname, perhaps? His uncle, who's a few years shy of 60, is still "Little Bobby" to all of us, to give you an idea of how long we hold on to nicknames.:) I can tell that whatever Jamie went by, he'll be missed dearly.

And I'm with Newbiewoobie--I'd like to see a link to a news story to support the claims that he was murdered. I can't find a thing about it. Surely it would have made news, especially in a town the size of Bowling Green.

There was no murder. It was a tragic accident. Jamie was not a depressed person. We can only assume he had a bit too much to drink and got careless with his gun. We will never know for sure but he would have never done this on purpose. He loved his family and friends too much.

Also Jamie, James, Dude are all his names. To his Louisville family he will always be Jamie.

I've heard that the police report said he was murdered... And yes he was a very depressed person, especially when he drank. So many claim they know the real him when you didn't. He's always been a depressed person but he put on a careless, fun personna to hide it all. I know because he's always been open with me about his feelings, he never hid the real him from me. And to the "Friend" how disrespectful, what a rude and ignorant comment. I knew he had family that called him Jamie, which is a nickname for James... You should be ashamed to even say such a thing like that in a tragic time like this...

Thanks so much Becky for we didnt him very well. That really helps us out a lot. We just didnt have quite enough guilt and second guessing going on. Who's being rude and ignorant now??

Glad you knew him so well.

He was quite depressed, especially when he drank. If you truly knew him and weren't just a casual friend, you knew that. Anyways, sad nonetheless, and I know that whoever did this will get theirs in the end.

i know James use to write a lot of feelings and thoughts down in a black book/journal very deep thoughts. every time we hung out we would have some kind of deep intellectual conversation his views/opinions on things. Again prayers are with the family and friends.

I want to apologize if I was disrespectful. I have known James for over 5 years and worked close to him some of that time. I know I dont know him as well as some people on here but I still always consider James a friend. And I am hurt and in shock by all this. But again Im sorry for being rude to anyone or insensitive. That wasnt my intention.

I graduated with James and was good friends with him throughout school. James was special and I will never forget the laughs and good times we shared. I regret that we lost touch after graduation. He touched the hearts of all of those that came in contact with him, and he was unforgetable. He will always remain in my heart and I will never forget the friendship I shared with him. His spirit will be with all of us that loved him. Rest in peace my dear old friend. Our contact may have diminished but our friendship never will. I am praying for his family that they may be strong during this very difficult time.

I'm not being ignorant and disrespectful, I'm simply stating a fact. If you believe that he was such a happy go lucky person, then he didn't let you see the real him. I'm sorry if you took it as me being rude and disrespectful, we are all hurt, and it upsets me to see how many people only knew the facade that he showed them.

James and I talked often, and I know my son talked him out of suicide atleast once. I received a phone call last night and some police officers were overheard saying that he was murdered and that the person told someone it was an accident and they are looking for that person. Maybe they are trying to rule out suicide? I do know his happy persona was an act, he was depressed and I always tried to lift his spirits. He was handsome, smart and such a caring person. I will miss him so much.

Thank you Angela for your kind words about him, I think I know who you are, you are Josh's Mom right? If so then I think he looked at you like a second Mom. As sad as it is, I am glad you got to know the real him too. I have heard from many people that it was a murder, but there are still those who are saying its a suicide, so I'm not sure what to believe. Either way its a sad situation. Hopefully he can be truly happy now.

We found such comfort during the service tonight. It was wonderful hearing all the stories about Jamie and how much he was loved and how much he loved as well. While our pain is often unbearable, we will reflect on his life with a smile and a laugh because we know he'll live forever in the hearts of his family and friends. He was so lucky to have found not just a circle of friends, but a whole community of them.
