I love hearing stories about this house. I would love to know more history about it. Such as who built the house, who owned it first, how old it is, how much land came with it originally and so forth. Anyone with any information, I'd love to hear what you know. Also are there any books on the house's history or anything written on it that anyone knows of? Thank you so much for this forum. I have really enjoyed it.
im sure the library in town will have a book or two that tell about the house...

Why wouldn't he want to sell that house, so it can be restored. It is such a wonderful piece of history. Would make a beautiful bed and breakfast.

I took some pictures of it this past summer in which we'd caught a few 'orbs' but nothing to alarm me much..... didn't pay anymore attention to them until recently when looking thru my fb photos. Wow, the faces I could see and yes, a figure of a women/girl in period clothing standing in a window which is boarded up now (it was at dusk, just barely dark). Was freaky when zoomed up to 400%. I could see all kinds of ppl in it!! I use to live behind The Hermitage and now coincidentally just live down the street from this place that has always intrigued me for some reason. I had no idea Andrew Jackson had anything to do with it until I asked about it one day. My husband and I had just passed by there one afternoon and he had mentioned that it looked as though it had caught on fire at some point. I didn't see what he was talking about and I wondered if anyone had died in the accident. As we get to the Marathon station down the street, I ask the cashier if she knew anything at all about it.. she said, "You mean the Jackson House" I said, "I suppose that's the name of it" when out of nowhere this old man behind me said a woman did in fact die in a fire accident while upstairs during a storm, something to do with lightening I'm guessing?! Does anyone know the deal with that? I definitely need to take a trip to the local library which I just learned yesterday stands where the old "Jacksonian Hotel" used to be...
It's a small world ain't it!!

Haunted. Definitely haunted. Been in there a few times (with friends) at night, about ten years ago. I never got a feeling of bad spirits there though. It was a little spooky, but peaceful.

I have spent many nights there years ago when a friend lived there.. a ccouple came in from texas and had pictures of the house from the early 1900'ssept and told stories. The girl yhat you can see was washed away in a flood. She is to be wondering around there you on the creek banks and yes i have seen her also while staying in the home you could hear people playing poker and music from pianos. Horses baying outside. There were three ghost that i know of that would play games with you moving objects and hiding stuff. Nothing harmful. Definitely worth a look .. the owner Ozzy owns a very large trash business in Nashville and will probably not let you in there anymore since the fire gutted it.. kids were there after he bought it doing what you want too and they accidentally burnt it out.. so they said.. also his grandfather was a slave that worked in the house another reason he does not want to sell it.. and the offer the county gave him of 2500. Was a little low dont you think. Since it wasnt burnt at the time.. hes a good man and if you speek to him in the right context he may let you inside with a release of liability. As i said the stairs up to the second floor is gone and the slave rooms are completely. Gone.

I'm a WKU student and I'm doing an assignment for one of my classes over the Andrew Jackson house here in scottsville. If any one is willing to meet with me so I could interview and record the stories you have about the house I would love for you to contact me. I need to have a few interviews within the next week or so, so don't hesitate to get a hold of me. I don't want to give my information out here but you can find me on Facebook and we can talk through messages.
