I have neuropathy in my feet and legs from diabeties, and sometimes the pain is terrible. The pain radiates from my feet up toward my knees.
I have heard that fibromyalgia is the same nerve damage pain as neuropathy, and if it is; I feel sorry for anyone that has this.
The pain in my feet and legs sometimes keeps me from even being able to walk, because when the pain gets so bad it seems the muscles get too weak to hold me up. I could not imagine having this kind of pain all over my body.

I do have fibromyalgia and I do draw a ck for it. But I have a great deal of other isses as well and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia first and may other issues begin to come along afterwards... Everybody always talked about how it was from nerve pain my symptoms didnt start with the all over body pain mine was generally located in my left knee and there were times that I couldnt get up and do anything because the pain was so severe. After being looked at for the pain in my knee and being told nothing was wrong and me knowing there was I was ready to give up. I went to my neurologist for migraine issues and he asjed questions and found out I had fibromyalgia. It took about a year before it started affecting my whole body. Its been six years since being diagnosed and even with meds there are days I cant function because of the pain.

First talk to your doctors to see if they support it. They have to fill out and provide documents so it helps if they agree. Call social security office and file a claim. It just opens its and gets the paperwork started. They will often do the initial interview on the phone. There may be a way to even initiate the claim online. Check the website. You have so many days to turn it in. You can get a lawyer up front or try it on your own and get a lawyer for the appeal. Your choice. If your not motivated or are unable to get everything together then get a lawyer to help. Before you start sit down and write down drs diagnosis and dates that you can remember. Will help you when filling out paperwork. Good luck.

dont go through social security to file your claim make sure you have a lawyer file on your behalf. there is a lot of paper wlrk that is needed and a lawyer will help ease some of the pain on getting everything that is needed. I personally love Burchett Law Firm in Glasgow they were great with me. I was afraid to use them after my first visit bc of who I had to talk to but everyone after the i ital visit was wonderful. If you file make sure you date it back to when you was diagnosed with dr nites supporting.

How many people do you know that are drawing a check for this.
Please do not take this disease lightly. It is excrutiating pain in different parts of your body usely arms legs shoulders feet and back. There are people that get disability for this disease. Depends on how bad of a case you have I suppose. But no I do not receive disability because of this disease. Lyrica is a very very good medicine used to treat this condition it really helps. I cannot sleep over two hours at a time due to the pain from this because if your body stays in one position for about that length of time, It will literally wake you up I have to have my husband help me simply to get up and out of the bed for a bit and reposition and try it again. I would not wish this condition on my worst enemy!!!!

yes lyrica helps quite a bit. ive just been on it for so long now that i still hurt quiet a bit but i guess that depends on the person as well. i have had to sleep w a tense unit on just to get confortable enough to sleep. then when u take it off the pain back in like five mins
