Why is it our highway never gets mowed??? Of course Warren Co line to Bowling Green got mowed before Memorial Day?? You know it is called Veterans Memorial Highway, just in case anyone puts 2+2 together that just maybe it would have been nice, when families are visiting to go to cemeteries..last year it was the same way..always too much interest in the 4-way stop I guess, needs mowing all over town too, going to Food Lion is a mess too, weeds etc.

You seem to be trying to make some point here, "Mayor".

The problem is: what you wrote is so rambling and poorly written that it's impossible to tell what point you were trying to make.

The weeds around Food Lion and the interest in the 4-way stop (in the middle of town?) have no connection to US 231 to the Warren County line. Mowing the road to the county line isn't the city's responsibility. I'd guess you'd need to talk to the state road department about that.

It could be that it isn't being mowed for a lack of money. It doesn't cost as much to just let the grass stand there and grow. Maybe you didn't think of that.

I'm guessing by posting as "Mayor" you're implying that it somehow the mayors fault that US 231 isn't being mowed to your liking.

I'm also guessing that you don't like the Scottsville mayor.

That's a serious problem with the democratic form of government. A lot of the time not everyone is going to approve of all of our elected officials.

Of course that's still way ahead of a dictatorship. In that form of government almost no one is going to approve of the leader.

A lot of folks though, won't approve of the performance of our officials no matter what form of government we have. They just want to bitch, whine, and find fault. Is that where you are coming from?

Guess it's too plain & simple to understand. It is referring to anyone that is over that decision. Jackass. They are meaning the whole town is a grown up mess, but not the 4-way stop. From Scottsville to Warren Co. line should have been mowed before the Holiday weekend. Looks pretty cut & dry to me on here. Bowling Green managed to do their side. Our taxes are higher than theirs, if you don't believe me ask someone who would know that too. Everybody on here is always wanting to start a fight.

I'll tell ya where I'ma coming from. I'ma coming from Bowling Green to Scottsville, and have noticed that it is a grown up MESS, fancy sign "Welcome" to what? laziness, til I get to town all manicured & lit up, then I travel out Gallatin Rd., there again laziness & a grown up mess, then I traveled back to Bowling Green, ahhh, nice at last. That's what I'ma telling you. The sides of the highway you know the one "VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY", AND SEEINGS HOW IT WAS MEMORIAL DAY THIS PAST WEEKEND, THOUGHT IT COULD BE MOWED. JUST LIKE OUR CEMETERIES THEY ARE ALL FRESHLY MOWED FOR THE HOLIDAY, IN HONOR OF OUR VETERANS. Stop trying to make it about politics. I am a democrat. And I agree with "really", you sound like a jackass.

And we are to beleive that because you say it? You and I both know that's just made up BS. Those weeds just jumped out and made a car wreck.

Well, dipstick, I'll make the point again. There is no connection between the Bowling Green Road to the county line being grown up and the responsibilities of the mayor of Scottsville.

The mayor of Scottsville doesn't have a thing to do with maintaining US 231 , a federal highway.

Mowing county, state, and federal highways is not part of the Scottsville mayor's job description.

Bitch at those who are responsible for mowing that.

Britni lane is about two miles west of town. I have assumed that the four way stop you are ranting about is in the middle of town. There is no connection between the two. Different entities have responsibility for maintaining those two places -- so explain please why you keep ranting about the four way stop. Which four way stop?

Perhaps, if the weeds are along a public road, you should contact the magistrate in your precinct. He can dispatch a tractor and mower to mow the roadside -- unless you are ranting about weeds on someone's private property. In that case talk to the land owner.

I live out in the country and the county road crew, from time to time, mows our roadside. But some of the local farmers also mow along the roadside sometimes as well. We don't go to Topix when we have a road problem.

Did it occur to anyone that perhaps bitching on Topix might not be the most effective way to solve this problem? Pull you head out.

Do something sensible for a change. Call your magistrate or the County Judge Executive. If the problem you speak of is the county's responsibility -- they can get it taken care of.

I give up..do not comment on this again please. Everyone is worried about the 4-way stop on here, not getting the "real picture"..the 4-way stop is something to be proud of, just thought by it being MEMORIAL DAY, that someone would have mowed our "VETERANS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY", guess I am the only one who thought in honor of the HOLIDAY that it should have occurred to someone else too. Good gosh, this is not about "THE MAYOR", nor who is in charge of the mowing. So then who's in charge of the town being mowed?? Please don't answer. Don't care anymore. Everyone has gotten off the subject. All this website is for is TROUBLE. All I know is I give up on Scottsville & all its "clicks".

Well I will have to say that I understood everything that you said and indicated. And Yes I do agree with you. Just look all over the county the right of way is the same, un-mowed. Maybe the state is trying to save money by cutting back on the number of times that will be required to mow it during the season.

thank you tinponyrider...finally. And maybe true about the cutting back. I just know there was a very bad wreck on Britni Lane/old BG Road just yesterday, hope everyone involved did not get hurt, my daughter took a picture of it, & what was left this morning is a mess in the road, the weeds there are very dangerous. And it was about 5:20 p.m. instead of 6:15. Just get tired of everytime something is mentioned on here about any subject everyone turns it around to something else. The ignorance of people ceases to amaze me.

I was there just a few days ago and a person has to be almost in the road before he/she can see what is coming from BG. I do agree that for safety purposes it does need to be mowed.

Maybe call the Judge Executive and voice your concerns to get an answer to why it hasn't been mowed.

Well I see the Veterans Memorial Hwy, got mowed, too late for Memorial Day & too soon for July 4th. Holiday. Not surprised. And thanks to a nice neighbor the sides of just Britni Lane got mowed, but not before causing the wreck, but maybe no more will happen there.
