Beloit Police Find a Body Thursday Morning in the 500 Block of North Pine

What the heck is going on in Beloit? What has the small town come to? Doesn't seem like anyone is safe in the town any more.

I don't see why this had to be put on here. Of course, I don't know how this works, but it didn't need to be put up. From what I have heard, the person found, died of natural causes. It's a sad, sad deal. Thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends!!

A house is vandalized by teens, an innocent baby is shaken to death, a lady is ran over behind a bar in an alley, a teen is molested in a locker room by two of the "star" football players, and now a body is found in a yard.

I am sooooo glad that my family moved away from the hell-hole known as Beloit, KS nearly 30 years ago!

Your posts says you're from Wichita, and it sounds like Wichita is a bastion of sanity. People having sex in dumpsters and all. And no murders there. Or drugs. And probably no hazing either. Really, get real. Get a life while you're at it.

I knew the young man that was found dead in his front yard. I grew up with him and his brother was in my class! His family said he fell off the roof, but i think its kinda suspisious that he wasnt found till the next morning, get real! He might have had his problems but his death wasnt accidental as far as im concerned! I moved from beloit years ago and since then its gone to hell! The police force doesnt do shit except sleep with female inmates. That town needs to be taken off the map!!

havock is right...what goes on in Beloit is very very small time if you look at the larger cities and thier crime problems...not to mention the TRUTH of each incident lately is very distorted, embellished with gossip...

let me clarify...first off,it was two houses vandalized...second the baby was NOT shaken to death and proven in court to be an "accidental death"...third "molested?" thats a new one, perhaps charges should have been stated as such but they are not...and fourth, is there an appropriate place to be found dead? does one get to plan that??? and your living in whichita WOW, i hear often of drive by shootings ,drug raids etc...all from where you live...noone is safe no matter where you live ,crime is everywhere!!!even in podunk kansas

You know "Rebel", I used to live in Randall and am related to at least half of Jewell county. I hope that you are not one of my relatives! You seem to be a very passionate and defensive individual who is very proud of their community which is not all bad. You are correct, crime is everywhere and there was even crime back in the 1970's in little ole Randall, KS. The difference is that back then, the kinds of things going on today in Beloit were "unthinkable" and "shocking" and were certainly not a "common" thing.

I have, which you likely have not, lived in a town with a population of 150 people and a city of over 350,000 people. In both areas, there are good people, and there are people with some real issues that the rest of us should all steer clear of. From my perspective, which I don't expect you or many others living in the area to understand, is that proportionally speaking it "seems" that things around the Beloit area are really bad right now and I honestly find it very sad. Randall, Beloit, Jewell, Concordia, etc.... are all communities that I still to this day have both family and friends in and I pray that none of them are mixed up with this kind of nonsense. I can tell you that 30 years ago, things were not that bad around the area and it was a terrific place to live and raise a family. Currently, it does not appear that is true today. Not that Topix should be a measure of the quality of life in a town, but just try typing in another city in Kansas and see how many you can find that have numerous shocking and disturbing postings like this one and actual AP news releases to validate them.

hmmm actually i am from a far larger town and state so forgive me for feeling this is small time...i live in small time kansas on purpose and am both a previous victim and yet defensive to some degree as i know a few of the victims...whats being posted is not quite factual and what i have seen in mitchell county law is WRONG but just "legal" enough that they get away with it...i am thuroughly appalled at the system here and sad that moving to a small town was not the small town christian atmosphere i envisioned
