2 football players suspended in possible hazing

The victim was NOT kicked out or the homecoming dance. He was talked to regarding his style of dancing as well as two other boys. The victim of the dancing was not a younger victim but a classmate and was not having a problem with it until a teacher made a big deal of it. Every kid at that dance was dancing this way I WAS THERE. It's sad that the hazing victim will have to live his life under a microscope and everything he does will be judged and scurtinized. As far as being a bully himself, have you seen him, he's a very small satured kid. (awnery...yes...bully...NO) What happened to him was awful and in no comparison the same as what he was doing at the dance. I talked to the victim of the dancing myself and he wasn't upset and said that he had been apologized and that he and the other victim were friends.

What is going on folks. Hello! Here I am sitting in my office in Springfield Illionois dealing with student feedback from the Apostles Center and decide to take a break and find out what is happening with the Trojans. Then I read this garbage. I came from a a small town 14 miles away because of the same garbage at Waconda East. I got tired of scaring my nuckles and having to be a bad ass in order to be in peace while I went to school. When I arrived at Beloit High I did not know what to expect. But I was recieved with open arms and given the respect that should be given any person. I made friends with almost everyone.
I had friends from freshmen all the way up to the Seniors. I had friends in the teachers also. God bless Mrs. Newcomer and Peter Caldwell. You guys were great. I then after being gone for a couple of decades your Children have become less than you were when I met you.(Not all I am sure) Let us put the team spirit and athletics aside. The traditional hazing and the other Crap too. Remember how kind you were when I came to your school. A stranger, and outsider and you all came to accept me when others could not. You all know who I am. Where I am at. And it was the friendship and respect that you gave me that helped me to become the person I am today. A NASM Personal Trainer, A USAW Sports Performance Coach, Apex Nutrition Coach and a Minister of the Gospel of Covenant of Christ. Embrace those Students from Jewell the same way you embraced me when I came to your School, and you will see that they will not let you down.

as somewhat of a newcomer myself...having left to jewell and being forced back into beloit after jewell closed , i have to say we are so far being treated with respect and welcomed with open arms back into the district..all of my kids are doing very well and are not in any way bullied or discriminated against so far...the changes in administration and facility seem to be very positive and beneficial to the school and i can see it must be hard to deal with some of the residual problems left behind from previous problems with the school, but God works within a lot of people in the area to make change that was needed to ensure our kids will be able to take on the responsibilities of our futures...

Thank God. This is good to hear. Beloit has a rich tradition of great athletes and Coaches. Coaches, Smith, Piazza, Sears, and Caldwell were an influence in my life. Col. Gordon McMillian was great friend when I was in School. I made some mistakes later on but because of their influence and God's work in me. I have become a better person for it. Even at the age of 45 I still compete in masters events. Not many know that I am legally blind due to an overdose of Prednesome by a doctor in Topeka. I have my right eye only and I went through hell to keep it with 20/200 vision. But because of what my coaches teaching staff taught me I stayed the course and went back into athletics. I am sure the same tradition of the staff being educators and mentors is still their. I say to the Students there at B.H.S.; Continue to seek that mentorship and stay true to Christ. Don't let this one incident pull you all down. Forgive and have compasion. But be fair in judgment. Do not look down on others because of where they are from, or because of their economic background. Give respect to whom respect is due and show compasion to all as God shows compasion to us. God bless;

To me freedom of speech means being allowed to cheer for whoever you want to no matter what town you live in. Why did St. John's fans feel they needed to send the cops over to harass the BHS boys?

I said "supporting the Blujays" because I didn't want to ASSUME they were up to no good like SOME of the people who were there did. I didn't mean they couldn't cheer for the other team.

I know an individual made it a POINT to tell the police to search the BHS kids [even suggesting to look in their vehicles] because she said they had beer! Did she SEE them with beer?? NO...she assumed it and insisted they needed to be searched. Instead of labeling all the BHS kids bad because of the actions of a few others, people should give the rest of the kids a chance to prove otherwise.
