America's latest sext scandal reveals the almighty power of the internet

Jul 27, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Guardian

New York mayoral candidate's exposure by an obscure website has left his campaign struggling - and confirmed that erring politicians now have nowhere to hide Anthony Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, at a press conference on 23 July after he was exposed by The Dirty.com website.

The idea that what happens on the internet stays on the internet should be remembered by these folks who fantasize (including those with blue dress fetishes) and get their sexual fixes this way.

But this shows why I can never be a Liberal.
I know over 90% of ALL POLITICIAN are scum and most the rest are fools. And that includes the so called conservative ones I vote for. I dont expect them to be models of morality and so I am not disappointed when they get caught with their zipper down.
Obama may make Chris Mathews spine tingle, but no elected Official has ever came close to doing that for me.
When it comes to Royalty Hollywood, political or European, My Republicanism is similar to Robespiere style Republicanism

What is your evidence that Robespierre was a Republican by any current definition? Having created "The REPUBLIC of Virtue" does not make him any kind of Republican. In fact he closed the churches, very uncharacteristic for a modern-day Republican.

Well we will never know what Robespierre view on many thing since he is dead for over 200 years.
But the point I was trying to make is it seems to be a Liberal Democrat you have to believe you are helpless and there are people better then you.
I refuse to admit I am helpless or that anyone is my superior.. Im not into hero worship, Obama does not send chills down my spine, I could care less about most Hollywood celebrities, and most so called sport hero bore me.But to be a Democrat it seems you have to be heavy into hero worship.

It's funny. I don't see myself as helpless or subservient, yet I am closer to being a liberal Democrat than to any other ideology. How do you figure that? I think your idea of what defines a Democrat is very flawed indeed. What you do have to believe as a liberal Democrat is that there are others who are helpless and who suffer, need a hand, and be willing to offer one.

I have no heroes, but there are people I admire in, but mostly out of, politics. That's for another discussion.

I agree that we'll never know all of Robespierre's views for sure. And certainly there is no such thing as "Robespierre Republicanism". Therefore I thought it a bit odd that you would align yourself with his alleged Republican affiliation. I believe what we do know about the man would hint that he'd more likely be a Democrat in today's terms.

You seem to be a reasonable sort, and not an extreme right flake. But I think you have a mistakenly jaundiced view about what Liberalism really means. It is responsible for virtually every bit of progress toward economical and social justice America has ever made. Despite what some say, it is really the most truly patriotic ideology to hold. There is a long way to go, and I'm proud to be a part of that journey.

In the late 18 century people tossed around the word Republicanism the same way they toss around the word Fascism today..Any thing the Ancien Regimes did not like was Republicanism .
And I will admit the Robespierre was not a nice guy but I like the way he handled those who thought they where better then the common man. I believe Colonel Colt created all men equal.

And here my opinion. I believe most people are Good at heart, are willing to work for what they want and need and are intelligent enough to take care of themselves. And anyone with an ounce of pride prefer to take care of themselves.
And I been poor , did not like it and decided to get out of poverty. And I have no problem with giving people a hand up, but when 47% of the people are receiving some sort of government assistance we need to look around and say can we afford to have half the population paying for the other half?
History has shown the more free a society is the more prosperous a society is.
