http://www.schooldigger.com/go/IN/schoolrank....

Indiana high schools currently take an Algebra 9 ECA and an English 10 ECA for graduation qualification. The ISTEP has not been given at the high school level for several years. The website above lists the rankings of all Indiana high schools based on their combined Alg9/Eng10 ECA scores for the most recent school year.

Hint, if your'e looking for Scottsburg High School's ranking you'll find it ABOVE (yes that means better than) Medora, Austin, New Albany, Clarksville, Crothersville, Pekin Eastern, West Washington, Columbus East AND Columbus North, Corydon, Madison Consolidated, Jeffersonville, Jennings County, Rising Sun, Paoli, Southwestern, Henryville, Switzerland County, Charlestown, Salem, North Harrison, Brownstown, Seymour and South Ripley…just to name some schools near Scott County.

I hope this helps with your confusion.

Congressman Todd Young, Governor Pence, Lt Governor Ellspermann, State Rep. Terry Goodin, and Messor said. Yep, ISTEP is still being given. Now, they want to test the teachers! God bless them for protecting our children from lies that the ISTEP is not been given. Wow, no wonder our children are failing they don't even know what a test is!

Oh and I did list phone numbers please call and see for yourself!

I should have known better than to use logic and statistics in an argument with you. As the quote says "Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience."

You are almost certainly legendary.

First, here's your proof on property taxes. Highest in the state is 6.8. We are half that.
https://www.stats.indiana.edu/taxframe.html

Secondly, as I've said before, and you seem to forget, the IDOE website has the ISTEP scores listed for both Scott 1 and Scott 2 and show Scott 2 performing fairly well.

In fact, I'm sure if you asked the teachers of Scott 2 on whether they want to be tested, they'll just tell you,"Bring it on." They know they do a good job and so do us as parents.

And I wasn't lying. You are parading around here as if you are the champion of education reform. In reality, all these reforms were in place before you were lol-ing like a 13 year old. In fact, there's been educational reform as long as there has been education.

As for teachers, they must know something since they were a large group arguing against Common Core which dummied down standards. They pushed for harder reforms which the state has no changed. Seems like teachers want the best for the kids.

Yeah, and I call bull**** on your tutoring job. School's name or it isn't happening.

You forgot to list the numbers. I know Terry Goodin. I know he's a huge supporter of teachers.

Do me job? Oh, you are assuming I teach. Well, you know what they say about assuming…

But, thank God we live in America where we have websites like Topix that allow people like you to freely be wrong. America, the Beautiful.

I'm sorry but you are just not stating the facts. If you knew ANYONE that's in high school they would tell you ISTEP DEFINITELY IS NOT given in high school. Ask around and you'll find this out. It is however, given in the lower grades. Please stop trying to be a know it all just to demean the public schools. I have a junior that is a high ability student who has already had many offers from colleges and universities and I have only the Scott County school teachers and administrators to thank!

ISTEP is given to 10th graders. The ECAs, which replaced GQEs, is given twice a year or until the student passes it.

I do not think every resident of Scott County to be an uneducated drug addicted parasite; however because so many are it gives the county a bad name. Although not alone, it makes it challenging for those with the best intentions to overcome and get things moving in the right direction. Make no mistake that there will be those who try to use excuses as their crutch. Ultimately it is by their own choices they live the lives they do.
