wth:
the team is self-supporting and won't cost the taxpayers a dime. It's a football CLUB, so it's still supported by the Scott County Youth Football League, but it's a school sanctioned team.
Granted the team will probably not win any championships over the next couple of years, but these kids have worked REALLY hard, and have shown much more heart and passion for a great organization than most people in this county do, AND they have to keep their grades up to play, and keep their bodies in shape, too. I figure anything is better than driving around through the country drinking and doing dope, right?

The team is self supporting. It won't cost taxpayers anything. People should be more happy about this! What is wrong with you all? Do you not realize the more kids we have in sports the less there will be on the streets getting high! Just be happy about the Football team, and support it! This is fantastic news!

Football game was great last night. Nice to see such a large turnout. Nice to see a lot of the old board members and also parents that had children play for thunder years ago. A lot of old players also came out. Way to go Scott county district 2 for thinking about our youth!

9/05/13 Scottsburg Warriors Vs. Corydon Central at Corydon
9/16/13 Scottsburg Warriors Vs. Charlestown at home
9/23/13 Scottsburg Warriors Vs. North Harrison at home
9/26/13 Scottsburg Warriors Vs. East Washington at East Washington
10/10/13 Scottsburg Warriors Vs. Brownstown Central at Brownstown

as far as begging for money, we do have opportunities for local people who want to donate and don't know how or where to help us out, like yard sales and road blocks. These are completely voluntary. THIS is how football exists without raising the community's taxes. No one is forced to give money if they don't want to. The majority of the funds come from gate admission and concession stand sales.

Need to put it in the high school also. The boys that started the SCYFL are now in high school and unable to play the last two yrs. Telling you if you all do that you will more than likely see hudge results. Youv'e already seen big results with middle school.

I am real happy to see the football program coming back to Scottsburg. I played on one of the last teams here and although our teams were not very good I can honestly say I know quite a few of the guys probably wouldn't have graduated from school if it hadn't been for football to motivate them to keep up their grades and give them a reason to show up every day. A lot of them didn't have a good home life and the team provided them a family to support them. Unfortunately the wrong head coach had been selected in Dick Buell who was abusive and turned off many of our athletes from wanting to participate. Gary Green did a good job the last couple of years but had no support what so ever from the school. Hopefully a good coach will be elected this timd . One who will have the boys best interests in mind and reach them leadership and other qualities that they can use later in life. Good luck to our future team.

The best part of when Scottsburg had football was the incident back in the 80s when that one guy went beserk at the game and attacked a ref I think. I can't remember all what happened since its been so long. That's about when they decided to get rid of football.
