Years ago the City of Lafayette when it was having financial woes were told that a consolidated government wouldn't work and they wouldn't listen and brought it to the voters over and over again until they got it. Now they are trying to figure out how to get out of it. The great City of Lafayette thinks they can run over all of the small and medium municipalities in the parish and do what they want. These municipalities are doing great and Lafayette is still having troubles. Like the old adage goes be careful what you wish for it may come true.
