Suddenlink Has Management Problems

Seen this in a Charleston Forum under Wrongful Termination.
Makes you wonder how anything gets done with this taking place behind the scenes.
Anyone else have something to say?

Does anyone out there fell its fair to terminate a excellent manager over a misinterpreted phone conversation? But then do nothing to a supervisor that distributes porn material using company equipment on company time. This happened to me in late Dec 2010. The misinterpreted phone conversation was over the exact wording of a vehicle accident that involved no injuries and was not a life threatening issue. The words that were misinterpreted were, " I hit a vehicle in the back end and they left the scene" and " A vehicle backed into me and left the scene". This could me misinterpreted on a cell phone conversation late at night under a accident situation of distress. There was never any question of falsifying when the offic1al report was written up. But there is a complete right and wrong when it comes to distributing pornographic materials on several occasions. It strongly feels to me that it was a more personal issue then a question of honesty. And guess what supervisor backed the phone conversation story, yes your right, the supervisor that sent all the porn. Go figure. and by pure coincidence, this same supervisor has a brother that was accused of having a under aged girl in the back of his van a few weeks prior and i had to suspend him for that. Overall, the majority of the cable techs, in the Charleston area, are excellent and very trustworthy individuals and would let them in my house any day of the week, if I was there or not, but its always a few rotten apples that gives the rest a bad name. You know who im talking about, Jerry. I am proud of the progress I made with taking care of the customers of Charleston but to be back stabbed by a 2 jealous Directors and a dishonest supervisor. Speaking of 1 of the jealous directors, I would question how she can work 9 to 4 each day with a lunch hour but claim a 40 hour week, im sure you know who im talking about, don't you Duska. Well needless to say, if your not in a certain click, I guess they will do whatever it takes to get rid of you. Oh by the way, West Virgina workforce management investigated this and found it to be a wrongful termination but due to the work-at-will rule in this state, they could not force them to reverse the decision. If Suddenlink felt they were right in their decision of termination, you would not be entitled to unemployment comp. Suddenlink never challenged the claim.

Well dont feel bad becuase I was the first to be stabbed in the back by Jerry Smith. He is the kind of guy who you think is your friend then uses the personal information to help him get ahead and get you fired.

From what I hear, that is the direction the company is going to with the management nowdays. I have spoke to several employee's that say he will use Dave Bach and Bob Leggs name to threaten people.

One of the favorite things he likes to threaten techs with is the "Manager QC Form". He make sure everyone knows they will never pass it, and once they have enough of them, he lets them know he will see they get fired per Bach and Leggs new policy's.

None of the ones I have spoke with has enough confidence in the HR department anyways, let alone having a guy who will make it a personal mission to ruin someones career. I honestly think Jerry gets a thrill from the attention he gets and the fact he can get someone in trouble.

He has lead many technicians down the wrong path towards termination, then claim he never had anything to do with it. Look at how he acted as a technician. Now with an ego the size of Texas, its not a good combo for a manager.

Honestly, who liked this guy before or even now. No one.

But when you have a regional office that allows this to go on, I can bet the KPI numbers look bad. I think it is funny when they blame all the issues on technicians seeing how they are ALOT of new faces around the offices now, but the same management is still in place. Come on corporatem you should be looking at the leaders, because the followers are doing only what they are told.

In closing, Jerry needs fired. Sorry for your situation, I heard you was a good guy.

Sudden Link read me

Well since being new to this site and stumbled onto this. I've got some input for the Sudden Link bashing. How about this, a Sudden Link Supervisor sleeping with an employee on company time and the employee become pregnant, humm wonder if compensation would pay for this. LOL Not Hardly, the husband of the employee paid for the child to be born not the Supervisor. I have a friend that this happened too. Sudden Link peers nor the HR Department done anything regarding the overnight stays for supervision and employee's on the company dime for a night to become a freak in the sheets. Sounds like to me, our over charged bills for cable; internet and phone service is for their sex addiction. Maybe they should hire an in house councilor for the addiction. Also, do they perform drug testing, if so? They may want to get a refund for the test they are performing.

I try hard every day to let go of a little bitterness I have for "leadership team" of Suddenkink. You have so many directors, managers, and an egotistical VP that will sleep with anything that wags a tail it amazes me they actually get work done in Teays Valley. Art Riley looses a little more touch with reality every time Marsha visits from corp. and I can not believe Kitten puts up with it. Knowing that woman she would castrate the perv if she knew it. Once he reads this he'll go stomping through the office in those half zip cowboy wana be boots straight to Duska's office and demand something be done. Knowing Duska, unless it has to do with fashion or make up she won't have an opinion. As for the other 1/3 of the HR staff Laura, she can't stop gossiping and scrounging up dirt about her co workers, oh and complain about NOT being what Norma is, she will of course have to contact corp for advice on how to handle his hostile behavior before she can address his issue.

Bach says it's his house. Well then it's Bach's problem. Maybe he should contact a few of the terminated employees to get the scoop no one else employed by Suddenlink can give without jeopardizing their employment.

How about them promoting a BBT 1 to supervisor because he is sleeping with the plant managers daughter. Then when you have an issue about it they tell you to deal with it. Same supervisor told me that he would fire me as soon as he could in training. Then all of a sudden you get hurt and you tell your supervisor and he tells me to suck it up and I am fired on top of all that 3 days later. Midland sucks, the entire Suddenlink "family" are liars and manipulators.

This explains why Sudden Blink can't keep their systems operational.

It also explains why Sudden Blink customer service is so bad.

Also I'm sure the labor board would be interested in this situation.

I think that sucks! How about this one.....
My son was working for Fed Ex....long story short..he made his feelings known concerning gun background checks after that horrible shooting in Newtown, CT and a few comments concerning NRA. Next thing you know, he is getting pounded by packages coming down the belt and when I went in to talk to Lopez, he says he has my son on video tape smoking anoint before work...my son is honest and gets fired. Now..here is the link to Suddenlink. I am home that week and a technician from Suddenlink just happens to drop by and ask if we were having problems. I said nothing under the normal storm outages. He proceeds to change my modem he said for higher speed. I did not watch him because I was trying to keep my dog settled upstairs. fter he left,I noticed that he took my old Lynksis router I bought fron
M Walmart. Of course they denied it. Now we are the only ones having cable phone and internetproblems . We also get harassing phone calls all day long. Do you know of any connection between Suddenlink and the NRA.?
Because Fed Ex is one of 35 top supporters of the NRA? Something is just not right!
