Ok. I dont know how to explain this or how this debate will go down but first of all that stop sign is pointless. Two vehicles of ANY size can pass each other with no difficulty there so I will under no circumstance stop at the stop sign.
Problems -
1) You get to the stop sign , other side person is stupid enough to stop (100% stop) and I do not stop, other person goes utterly insane , throwing up hands flipping you off, road rage ensues like no other. BUT if they had any iq, they never would have came to a complete stop
2) The real smart ass ones still come to a STOP but do so in the DEAD center of the road so you are thus FORCED to also come to the 100% stop as well.... They only stop in the middle of the road to make you stop... BUT what if I also stopped in the DEAD center on my side making it so neither you nor I can pass.... what then... hmmm
3) The last issue with this entire area of morons is that people pulling out of TCBY to go to the light just plain out 100% dont even LOOK they act like they are already out in the road and have the right to just pull out in front of you. Sry yea it would be nice if someone let you out but it is not an obligation...
Also when someone DOES let one of those people out they then WONT go thus causing me to miss the ten second light.
Oh one more thing with that whole stop sign / stop light area. People ON the main road coming in the direction OFF the interstate towards Hurricane that get into the turning lane to go towards Kroger feel they MUST run the light. Light is obviously RED by the time you start to turn... Is your time more important than the rest of our time? Can you not WAIT your turn and not cost other people their turn? Do you feel THAT much more entitled to just GO? If so, why ?

My thoughts: People actually stop at that stop sign not because they are morons, but because it's the law to stop at a stop sign regardless of whether or not you agree with the placement of the stop sign. I agree that is probably isn't necessary but that isn't for you or I to decide.

First, I am not in Oak Hill, my IP showed up out of Oak Hill ...
Anyway, I am sorry, I can not say I agree that we should follow all stop signs...
If there happened to be a sign saying "drive off bridge here" it would be people like you who would actually do this, hence why the sea of morons are stopping at the sign. Thank you - point proven.
That sign is 100% retarded. Same people who stop at that stop sign are ones who drive left of center down Mt Vernon road after they stop at said stop sign....

What point was proven? I have in my 40 something years of life yet to see a "drive off the bridge here sign". Where did you see one? Stop sign = stop. Period. Also, in case you didn't know, local authorities check out topix for drug related topics. Maybe now they know where to park and make a few bucks in tickets. You gonna tell the police you don't believe in stop signs that you deem useless and refuse the ticket? Love to see that.

I actually would tell them it is stupid, pointless and needs to be removed. The sign is there because people are morons and can not drive. Yea and I will never stop at that stop sign... period. How does local authorities checking topix for drug related topix relate to my belief that the stop sign is inaccurate? I am sure they are gonna call off their drug busts to sit at the stop sign.... yea like to see that... I will not pay any ticket received in relation to that stop sign.
I can put a sign up that says drive off bridge here" on any local bridge if you promise to obey it as you say you would therefore eliminating a speck of filth in the sea of morons I live amongst.

I think it's clear who the moron really is!! If you don't want to stop at that one, why stop at any of them? Try that and see how it works out..

No, not all stop signs are the same. You are stereotyping stop signs now. This stop sign is POINTLESS (unlike so many stop signs and signals so many of you idiots ignore) The same morons who STOP at this pointless stop sign are the ones who are running red lights because they think their TIME is more important than everyone else's. You people are missing the point. But... what can I expect from you fools?

Sooooo...."Peeved" how does calling people names help validate your point, other than making yourself look like a blubbering idiot? Whether you a agree with the location of a stop sign or not, you need to stop. I agree with you, in that, that particular stop sign is ridiculous.

Lets just pretend that a car has beaten you to the stop sign, coming the other direction, and they DID stop. Then they started to move and you come barreling through the stop sign that you refuse to stop at, and your vehicles collide? Whose fault do you think it's going to be? You may refuse to pay a ticket, but your insurance (provided you have insurance) will be paying for the damage to someone else's car...and all because you're to "intelligent" to follow the law and actually stop.

So instead of ranting on here, how's about you take action. Go another 500' to the stop light by Rite Aid, and avoid the stop sign altogether. That way you don't need to worry yourself with all the morons stopping at the stop sign.

How about someone comes barelling through the walmart parking lot at 50 mph because they don't believe there should be a speed limit there and runs you down. I mean, they probably feel enlightened and believe the rest of us are just morons for following the posted speed limit. Just saying. This, of course, is tongue and cheek. Just following your flawed logic. Others may not believe in red lights too, we could go on...

The sign was there many years ago because the cement jutted out farther than it does now. The cement was removed and widened the area but the stop sign remained and you will get a ticket for not stopping even if there are no cars coming toward you. It says alternate with oncoming cars. If there are no incoming then I interpret that as I don't have to stop.
