How about lowering your prices to a nomad level. Engaging or for that matter even engage your customers face to face. Trying to be a little less showie with your badges and accolades. You did that stuff so did I no ones gives a frack. Get rid of the 2 dogs. Think about how to run a business instead of showing off your stuff. Close the computer and stop trying to het rich quick. We as in everybody in this town know you we know you personally and we know you are up to your eyeballs in debt. We want to help. But with your prices forgetaboutit. I'll go to shooters or whitakeerrs or somebody who'll negotiate. Oh and by the way insulting someone's family member behind their back BEFORE YOU CHECK ALL OF YOUR FACTS might not just get you out of business. It might cause a legal or personal issue.

Really? Instead of hiding behind a topix name, why don't you talk face to face? And checking facts? Really? Think you need to check yours.
If you don't like the bulleton board, don't stand and read it so much. Don't like the store, stop coming in! Please go somewhere else and stop complaining.

As for my Debt, what do you care? And insulting someone's family member? You are really reaching for insults aren't you? I can belive this coming from you. My prices? I have never made over $50.00 on a firearm. I CAN prove it. As for negotiate? Just look at High Point, Shooters gives a guy who paid $271.00 for one that I sell for $159.00. Then when he went to trade it back in with then, 2 weeks later, they were going to give him only $40.00 trade-in. I gave him $100.00. I give more on trade ins than anybody. I am sorry for your discontent. I try to do my best. I am open when others are closed, why don't you give some positive feedback, and maybe I will change. Trying to tear things down, only makes it worse. I am sorry for your discontent.

You've always worked with me and your prices have always been far. Personally, I hate shooters. They're over priced and the guys that work there are jack asses. I'm glad you're in town.

I am going to move into the old Baker's Grocery store in a couple of months. I have worked out a Deal with Pepsi, to carry fountain soda's and with other companies for Milk, bread, snacks, ice, etc. Is there other things that I could offer to sell that you would like to see?
Please be nice with suggestions, my daughter reads this also.

My dear cousin, I am so glad you are doing so well and am very proud of you. Maybe I can finally stop by next time I am in town.Just keep your chin up and turn a deaf ear to those who try to hurt you. Just be true to yourself and your family and you will do just fine.

One thing you will have to do to make it is.... Make it clean, well lit, and smoke free. Don't make it a place where a half drunk kid feels welcome. If there's a 3 or 4 young teenagers smoking in your property; that's your responsibility to make it uncomfortable for them to be there....

As for your quesition.... The things that people drive to Cape and Jackson for on weekends.
Here's a few

- Hunting and fishing license, deer tags, bird stamps, etc... Mo. & Il.

-Coolers (buy 3 or 4 of the ones from Walmart and mark them up 5 or 6 bucks) if it's only 5 or 6 bucks difference we will buy it.

-Ammo, have .22 bulk and cheap plinking ammo all the time. Have a few boxes of .223, 22-250, 243, 270, 30-30, 30-06, and 308. 12 and 20 bulk, cheaper ammo for clay birds,#5's in a high brass, and 2's or BB's in steel. All with in $3 to $5 of Walmart.

- clay birds (at less then $11.50 a case)

-a few outdoor game (bring back jarts:/).. Not an everyday sale but , once or twice a year a sell out.

I agree , I am new to Scott city and so far it's been nice place to live as long as you don't get involved in drama. I am a single parent with 2 kids and I love the idea of you moving to a different place with more stuff to offer at least the few essential stuff like snacks, milk n bread. Couple of things I've noticed here is Scott city goes to sleep after 9 pm besides Casey's n Rhodes and I'd like to see at least one other place besides bobs food liner to offer few food items. My second time at bobs will be my last visit there that's just a rip off , everything there is over a 1$ than other places and I'd rather take my business to Walmart or Aldis .... And please don't make it a high schools kids hangout spot I see them enough by the old train and Rhodes parking lot.... Thank you

how about bait all year not worms, but minnows. maybe even try to keep them alive so they are active when you fish with them not dead. plus its going to be hard to get people in there when you block the access to the parking lot. also try to keep the dog crap cleaned up

I am glad you will be moving and offering some of the basic staples that we need here in town with out having to drive all the way to Cape. But I do agree with one post here. Take the smoking outside.... I have been in your shop here in town a few times. And to be honest I can't stand to even look around because it stinks so bad. I am a non smoker and I walk in there and my eye's and nose are quick to tell me to get out....
Not meaning to be negative here, but you asked for suggestions... Well your buddy's that come in there and hang out with you, are they buying anything? Or just taking up space where paying customers have a hard to look around. Or are they helping you smell up the place with the smoking which keeps a lot of customers away.

These are the types of comments I am looking for. Thank you. I closed the parking lot because of big trucks parking and driving though there. One of them just about took out the water meter. The smoking I know stinks, and will not have it in open area in the new building. Right know i am having trouble getting walls built inside. I hope to be in there by June first.
Thank you all,

since you sell bait, maybe a place to park a boat instead of in the street.

As for as blocking the parking lot, My daughter was almost hit by a truck flying though there thinging that's a street. Most of the people with boats, pull into the yard, or just a few feet down behind the bldg. My minnows are in a refig. and bio filter tank. If you put them in a bucket without an airator, they wont last long in the sun. I make no money on minnows. I do try get get them all year, but not always possible. I've tryed my best, but if this ins't what people want, i will just move on. I really thank you for the customers I have had, but just like many small towns, maybe this isn't the place to have these things. Sorry Scott City.

People of scott city why don't you try supporting your local businesses instead of griping about what they dont do for you. They cant make everyone happy all the time. When I was younger, Scott City had businesses open in almost building down the main drag and in old Illmo now it just looks like a ghost town. Take some pride in your town and clean it up and buy from your local businesses.

I am all for local businesses and it's such a convenience when you have everything right there instead of going to cape. But it's frustrating when some businesses like BOB'S foodLiner has outrageous prices and I prefer shopping at the dollar store. How are we suppose to support our local businesses when they rip you off and rob your wallet with their outrageous prices? I did my own home work and as I spend $200 a mo for my groceries I save about $40 by driving to cape and shopping at aldi's or even Walmart. They really need quit trying to get rich over night and ripping their own local people out.
