Residents are concerned about high rates of cancer in Scituate. Are they aware that the municipal drinking water well was located in the middle of a closed dumpsite?

We lived in Scituate in 1986 and 1987. Today, my wife was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma cancer. We don't know yet if it is or isn't, non-Hodgkins or, if it is aggresive.

Can anyone tell me if this is one of the types of cancer associated with the cancer cluster ?

Many different kinds of cancer are caused by exposure to carcinogens. In what area of Scituate did you live (only cross-streets are needed)? Government agencies spend too much time trying to prove the existence of a cancer cluster that is already apparent and little or no time investigating chemical contamination of Scituate's municipal drinking water well and researching locations of other closed dumpsites in the community.

We lived on Beacon Rd., near Jericho Rd. During one especially high-tide/Nor'easter storm event, our basement took on about 6" of water.

Did you drink municipal water or have your own well?

At least one of the Scituate municipal drinking water wells was located in the middle of a closed dumpsite which probably contained cancer-causing chemicals. Because your wife was recently diagnosed with cancer, it's possible her illness was caused by exposure to something in the environment where you currently live. Where do you now reside?

I arrived as clergy 14 years ago. Over that time there were some unusual cancers, and a striking number of women w breast cancer, some in advanced stage, but only in their early 40s.
