I was parked in the turning lane at the shell station at Science Hill. A young man/teen misjudged which lights were red or green or something. As he was sprinting across the road, he couldn't see oncoming traffic for the vehicles in the left turning lane and was struck by a car traveling towards Somerset.
I've actually been trying to find something out about the accident. I was one of the people along with my father and some ladies (one or two of them were nurses), I think. One of the ladies and I were holding down a cover to help keep the young man from going into shock.
My father and I left when Fire Rescue arrived on the scene to administer first aid. We felt that we needed to get out of the way after that.
The young man/teen was breathing normally as far as I could tell.. and he was able to squeeze the nurse's hand when she asked him to. After awhile he did try to get into a sitting/upright position, that was when Fire Rescue arrived.
His friend witnessed the accident from where the teen tried to cross the street. The injured man, his family, the friend's family needs to be in everyone's thoughts and prayers for sure.
