I heard of this car lot took advantage of a widowed woman. They looked at a car the lady had. Told her is was only worth 3800, the woman didn't really know what it was worth, so he bought it. And put it on his lot for 6000. Boy that's bad business to lie to like that to that widow. I've always heard good things about that lot, but after hearing this. I guess its like all the others. I sure hope they can sleep.

I bet if you figure taxes, overhead, 4000 sitting on lot 1 to 5 monthes your 2000 bucks would look alot less. You are probably pissed off cause you did not get the car to sell!

Sounds like the car lot gave her a good deal to me.

Car lots have to pay a group insurance policy and it is high. They can't let you test drive a car with no insuance. Like the last guy said set around for who knows how long.

Think about this, If I went to that car lot and tried to buy it I would offer 5000. for it, he would not sell the car for 6000. the lot has bills. Running a small business is costly. Why didn't she put it in her drive and put a for sale sighn on it?

That is a very reasonable price for the car. He is taking a chance that there will be repairs necessary, and he may have seen something that needed repair now. He also has to expect a buyer to want to "negotiate" with him on the price, and he almost always does his pricing as "on the road", meaning he pays transfer and taxes. With all that figured in, plus the cost of running a business, he can expect a profit of about $500, but when and if he can get that is anyones guess. They have always been fair with everyone I know who has bought from there, and he is the only dealer I know of who will actually tell you the truth about the vehicle condition. If it has something wrong with it, he will tell you.
