Somerset — A traffic stop resulted in the drug-related arrest of a Nancy man — who then allegedly turned around and committed another violent offense with his brother.

Authorities are looking for Hubert Earl Dugger, 36, of Ky. 235. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approach by citizens, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday night, just after 10 p.m., sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on Ky. 235 in western Pulaski County. During the stop and search of the vehicle, deputies allegedly discovered a quantity of methamphetamine and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun hidden in the air filter in the engine compartment of the car.

The investigation by the sheriff’s Patrol and Narcotics Divisions found that Dugger, the passenger in the car, was responsible for the drugs and the weapon, according to the sheriff’s office.

Dugger was arrested and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, second offense, enhanced with the use of a firearm — a class A felony. The driver was not been charged in the incident.

Dugger was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center and was released from custody on bond the next day, according to Sheriff Todd Wood.

On Wednesday, Hubert and his brother Willie Dugger went to the residence of an individual they believed to be a witness against Hubert in a drug and burglary investigation, according to the sheriff’s department. Willie was allegedly armed with a handgun and Hubert allegedly with a knife.

The two brothers then allegedly assaulted the victim, causing injuries, and took property, including the victim’s wallet which contained money, according to the sheriff’s department.

Willie allegedly used force against the victim, and Hubert threatened the victim with bodily harm, said the sheriff’s report.

According to Deputy Bart Watkins, it isn’t yet known by investigators whether or not the alleged assault is connected to the original stop in which Hubert was found with the drugs and firearm.

Willie Dugger, 29, of Coles Trail in Somerset, was located Wednesday and charged on a Pulaski District Court warrant on the charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, and intimidating a participant in a legal process. He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash or property bond.

Authorities are still looking for Hubert Dugger. He is described as being a white male, 6-foot-1 in height, with brown hair and green eyes, with his last known address being on Ky. 235 in the Nancy area.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department requests that anyone with information on the location of Hubert Dugger contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office or the local police of jurisdiction.

All information will be treated as confidential.

I'd like to know the same thing. Why was he let out on bond with a second charge hanging on him?
Reading this really pissed me off.
Willie Dugger gets bonded out and put back on the street then gets arrested again within a days time for assault, robbery, plus witness intimidating by beating the crap out of somebody and his brother Hubert who helped him do it is still armed and dangerous out here running loose and no one knows where he is?
Stupid, just plain stupid. It puts us all in danger!
I hope they catch this dude soon because I'm afraid that some one is gonna get killed eventually if they don't.
Sure enough we need to remember who keeps letting these criminals out on bond every time that door revolves at the jail house.
The police can only do so much. They must really get disgusted seeing the people they repeatedly arrest being let back out time after time! I get so sick and tired of reading the same old names in the paper all the time then looking on Jail Tracker only to see they've been cut loose again.
Most every body around here knows who this bunch runs with. I'm sure the law knows too so maybe they'll get him sooner than later and also arrest whoever is hiding him!
Harboring a fugitive is against the law!
Why don't they at least tell us what he's driving so we can watch out for our own safety?
has he

He will get caught. It's depressing that they have a jail full over child support and marijuana use, but can't keep violent offenders in. All crimes should be prosecuted, but violent offenders should have the book thrown at them and not be on the streets so quickly.

If you want to blame someone , call your state legislator and ask them why they voted to change the laws to allow these types of persons to be released. Ask them why the new laws are so liberal and why the bond schedules have been reduced. The state legislators created this monster, they voted it in.

What is this non-sense suppose to mean? No they haven't caught him as of yet, not the last time I checked. Yes his brother's pic is there but not his.
But there has been another robbery and no arrest there either. Maybe it was him that struck again.
People need to be aware that caution is warranted. There are an untold number of murders running free in Pulaski County. Do I need to name some victims? Ray Burton, the baby and lady, Gibson, the girl from Wal-Mart, Nancy man, etc, etc.
The people there vote for Todd Wood and have no law enforcement. But don't tell that to the Nancy residents--they think their drug problem will return if he is not re-elected!

So are yours, everybody is entitled to their opinion. Just because you don't agree with his doesn't make it wrong. In fact while he may not be eloquently stating his opinions, I agree with him in the fact that the sheriffs department is in need of a major overhaul and new leadership. Too many lawsuits, no accountability for either Wood or his employees, and way too many lies.
