Dangerous road needs fixing
This is the first time I have heard Kaukonahua Road called Pine Tree Road. We always called it the Winding Road. Anyway, it has always been a very dangerous road. The city made many fixes to the road in the past few years. Better signage, rumble strips, etc. Yet, the 23 years that I drove this road each day, speed seemed to be the biggest problem aside from late night drunk driving. Many motorcycle accidents happen on the turns due to speed and inexperience of the rider. One thing that should be done is to prohibit truck traffic in both directions. Another is more random speed enforcement. It will remain dangerous unless drivers slow down.

My tutuman told me-"you cannot make the horse drink water baby".....too true in regards to the drivers careless/useless deaths on that road. If idiots have no sense of safety for themselves, I hope at least leave the keiki at home. Aloha

In Europe, the students may have time to study more than one language. Here in America, kids spend more and more time fiddling with their I-Phone cell phone, and other electronic gadgets. My young adult co-workers check their cell phone before every break time, and spend the entire break time playing with the phone. Are they expecting a million dollar contract closing call???

I love the melodious sounds of the Hawaiian language whether spoken or in song, however, I believe our young people need to capitalize on languages that will be used in commerce and business in the next 30-40 years, i.e., Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc. More emphasis needs to be placed on the languages that will move our young people forward, meanwhile, teach Hawaiian as an elective, not a requirement.

Glad to see you back on the team and have abandoned the French National Flag.
Meanwhile, Bruce Lansford inviting the communist chinese to our shores, should understand Hawaii already has it quota of chinese. Go check out kam school. The Great Red Hoard is running the show.
