Sauk Village hosting event this weekend for the family

SAUK VILLAGE | What was once the Corn & Dog Roast has evolved into the Sauk Village Back-to-School Fest and it is Friday through Sunday.

The weekend-long festival will be from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday. It will be held behind the Village Hall, 21701 Torrence Ave.

Jeff Morden, safety and security director for the event, said the village wanted to make things more community-oriented.

"Mayor Lewis Towers wanted to bring things back to the community. The residents were starving for things to do," he said.

The village's focus on a school theme will provide children with information on school issues and how to avoid gang violence and drugs. Other activities include food, vendors, music, a Miss Sauk Village beauty pageant, games, giveaways, a petting zoo and pony rides.- BY ANN LAMPARSKI, Times Correspondent

So where was the petting zoo and ponies?! we took our girls and not only was the place pretty much empty....we didn't see any animals!

That was really a low blow...Mr Ed. I gave him all of the respect he was due....I acted like I didn't know who he was...

I was there...When was the last time any of you have seen a Mayor taking part, Working for an event for the people out here. All the nasty little comments...did any of you volunteer to help? I do know what you mean tho...it's so much easier to sit and complain rather then try to help with things out here. It looked like there was a lot of time and effort put in for the kids. It also looked like they had a lot of volunteers that was nice to see.
My kids had a great time.

did you know the mayor put jeff m. in charge of the event. and he is a wife beater and a child molester? all in public information. thats probably why no one was there with their kids.

There did not seem to be many people in attendance. It looks like Sauk Village tax payers will have to foot the bill for another failed festival. Maybe better planning is in order or cancel the events all together and come up with something different. After all, the air and water show was this weekend and it seemed that all the neighboring towns were having must larger events and that's why this wasn't attended. But events like these need to be planned months in advance not weeks or days.

You're right the event was a total flop. Wait till next year when all of the Section 8 folks get to town.

First of all Jeff M. did a great job running this event! All these accusations of him being a wife beater and child molester are all just nasty rumors. YOUR just jealous because you "Mr Worried" were not in charge of the event yourself. You just think that if you run enough nasty rumors and smear who Jeff M is that you'll be in charge again. Well it doesn't work that way in the real world & this is not High School. So, enjoy your bash fest because all you'll have in the end is your nasty self.

You are wrong, I know of this Jeff M and he is very much weird. Watch out Sauk Village, if this is all you have, we are in trouble.

you have no clue on what your talking about. go to the village hall and look it up. its public recoerds. go to the courthouse. so maybe you should do some research before you speak. this is not to bash anyone thats innocent. but when a pedifile is trying to run things, i think people should know. wouldnt you agree on that? like i said , look it up and you'll see that its the truth.

Obvisiouly you have nothing better to do in your life but make up lies about ppl. You should really worry about your own lies & curruption that you created! Maybe the ppl of Sauk Village would like to know about that one!

Curious if anyone actually looked up the Jeff M. thing. Not to say he is innocent or guilty. I would however say that I would like a warning about those kinds of things. I did not see him on any sexual preditor list that I looked up...so I have to assume that worried is lying, but I would like to confirm if anyone else has looked this up and found different information.

Well I already know that "Worried" is a liar. But, to help prove Jeff M. is not a child molester or wife beater I went to Sauk Village Public records.com to see if any criminal record came up & not to my surprise, NO criminal files were found. It shows real estate trasactions & Bankrupcy. That's It!

hey dumb ass, like i said before i heard he had it exspunged. since you cant find it thats what happened. but im looking into it to prove how stupid you are. now even though it was exspunged it should still be in the sauk village records. do you know anybody that works there and can find out? if so do so. when i figure out how to prove it i'll let you know. now there are people who know him and know of what he did. ask around. and for the record i am not who you think i am. i am no department head. im just someone who knows about him.

actuall why dont you go ask his daughter or her friends. she works at mc donalds. ask his wife. not sure where she works though.
