Its so great to see groups fight for honest, science-based sex education! Providing funding for comprehensive sex education is a great step toward achieving this... it's good to see people standing up for what's right instead of standing by in order to avoid confrontantion with opponents!

Providing "honest, science-based sex education" will do nothing but lower teen pregnancy and disease rates.

It will remove sex hrom the dirty gutter, and deprive children from the fun of learning about the birds and bees curbside, from their pals.

It will remove all that mystery satisfied by playing doctor.

Why shouldn't people with their morals in the dark ages rule over us all?

Lets face it, if we are to rely on parents to provide sex education to their children, many would miss out, and ironically, it is most likely this group that needs it the most. Schools should have an obligation to provide sound sex education to children before they reach sexual maturity. Providing this education should not be construed as consenting to pre-marital sex. It is not the consequence of disease that concerns me, although I admit it could have dramatic effects on the individuals, what concerns me the most is the unwanted pregnancies that will either lead to abortion or unhappy and unwanted kids.

Sex ed at home is an easy one... I have told my 13 year old son that if he ever plans on having sex he had better use protection and he better make damn sure that he doesn't get her pregnant. He knows how it all works and how it all starts. he has known for 5 years now, at first he looked at me like i was insane but as he has gotten older and puberty in setting in he understands more of what we have talked about over the years.. It all starts at home. you should be very honest and open with your children and hold nothing back. My son has also seen his baby brother born and that scared the holy ba-jesus out of him. You have to be a parent to your kids but you can also be their best-friend.

i totally agree, this should start at home, i am married and have 2 kids, my other family members have kids as well, my 14 year old niece talked about wanting kids a couple years ago, now that she sees all of us with our kids, she now realizes that it is difficult. so, for now she just plays with them.

yes i would have to agree completely on that. They have just as much of an option to use sandpaper and steel wool as they do with sex.
