Also on Wednesday, a jury in Charles' courtroom cleared Jake Doster, 22, of 239 Michters Road, Newmanstown, of charges that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl. He had been accused of assaulting the girl at a home in the 400 block of West Main Street in Schaefferstown on July 11 and 12 last year.

Doster was found not guilty of communication with a minor, statutory sexual assault, corruption of a minor, indecent

assault and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

HOW? How does one get charges of this sort filed, and then have them found NOT guilty?

Georgia is definately an upstanding citizen of Lebanon county. Not only is she a welfare baby mama, she also screws the taxpayers by stealing from her employer. Good job. Your Mom must be proud!

Then how do those charges get filed in the first place? Did a cop just show up and decide to arrest him for them?

I doubt this is simply a matter of 'he didn't do it'. The prisons are FULL of innocent people, right?

If that's the case then someone is doing a crap job of investigating this sort of thing before it makes it all the way to a courtroom.

I just think that for charges like this to make it all the way to an actual trial, there has to be something to them.

Are you people forgetting the very essence of our justice system? Innocent until proven guilty!!! What part don't you understand. If you people ever get on a jury the defendant is doomed. You already have an assumption of guilt based on an arrest! This guy was found not guilty and you still question his innocense based on the arrest and prosecution? Here's a news flash! People take criminal charges to a jury all the time and het aquitted. The reason it does not happen in Lebanon too much is because nobody can hire a lawyer to defend them and they are stuck with the good ol' boy network. Plenty of innocent people have pleaded not guilty to a lesser charge because they are afraid to go to trial. The DA will threaten the max time if anybody goes to trial and loses. Anyway, you folks have a twisted outlook on our criminal justice system. If a jury finds one guilty, no questions, but not guilty and there is all kind of questions. You only trust the system when you agree with the outcome. MOB MENTALITY!!!

So the cops just knocked on this guys door and arrested him for these charges, for no reason? An arrest had to be made. What was the original charge and how did it go down? As a juror, I would be allowed to know these details, allowing me to make an INFORMED decision about guilt or innocence. Without these facts all I can do is speculate, and that speculation makes me ask how someone can have these charges filed against them without SOMETHING pushing them to be filed, even if it was just the part about furnishing the booze.
