The Scarborough Council have approved a proposal for the redevelopment of the site neighbouring Gilly's Steps. The proposed new build will be Glass Artist Studio and Arts Space, it hopes that it will bring different type of economy to the area.

However, there is a risk of Gilly's Steps being partially or compeltely obstructed. There is also the almost certain possibility of losing the view from t
he now very used seating area at Merchand's Row.

We are a group of students trying to collect stories and opinions about Gilly's Steps and the future redevelopment of the area. According to new building laws everyone can write the planning framework for the area they live in and we are hoping that we can do that.

What do you think about it?
