Verdict is in on Judge Ettore Simeone's behavior

Full story: Newsday 45
You'd think Conservative Family Court Judge Ettore Simeone, already censured by the state, would be on his very best behavior in his bid for re-election. But the judge is already tripping over his own Web site ... Read more

i want to write a response to these negative articles about judge simeone.... first off his mom who is a wonderful christian woman had to be a widow at 50 and raise her kids and begin to go to work to support her household .... shes had it very rough lives with diabetes which sometimes is crippling for her but she is still working at 75 part time to make ends but ...she has battled strokes and blood clots and colon cancer.....what son wouldnt ask for help....The political agenda just twisted the actual truth.....i know because i am her son and his brother.... Does writing for newsday mean you have no compassion and care nothing about the people you affect who read this....? like his children etc?.... i guess the people who want to criticize have no faults and have never fallen short in their lives?....In this era of hate and war we should talk about the positive things the candidates are about....and what they have done and I assure you he has made a difference in many lives.... we dont agree on evrything he and i BUT we do agree that he is a hard working fair and comitted judge who has served his community a great deal.... He has no dishonest or mean bone in his body and its geting very tiring to read this nonsense.... look at the work hes done ........and the family he has raised...and give him a break ....its enough to have his only daughter in irag fighting for country.....let that be his only worry its the most important one....i m sure youll all agree......

The Simeone/DiCarlo team are unfortunately going to lose in Brookhaven. Not unfortunately for Ed Simeone - he deserves to lose - but unfortunately for the DiCarlo ticket which shouldn't be painted with the same brush as Simeone. Why are we letting a Conservative party member drag down DiCarlo. Why is DiCarlo letting this happen.

Dear LOU in NYC, It is unfortunate that your mother has had such an unfair life filled with bad things. Your brother however, should be aware of his position and be more ethical. He wasn't thinking of his mother or children when he was being unfaithful to his wife and abusing his position of power. You have drunk the Kool Aide. He doesn't belong on the bench or does any other Judge who is being unfaithful to his wife and family.

A judge should be of good character and above reproach in everything he/she says or does, and seen to be so. Someone who has anything to their discredit, particularly breaches of the law, should not be permitted to sit in judgment on other offenders. Furthermore, in their judicial conduct, a judge should not know, or be related to, the accused, or the jurors, or any witnesses in a trial, or have any vested interest in a trial's outcome. If such a situation arises, the judge should vacate the bench and allow another judge to try that case.
Otherwise, the justice system is not being impartial and delivering verdicts on cases according to the evidence submitted in court, and on that alone.

Bob DiCarlo, who unfortunately
will be hurt by helping a friend.Bob was an excellent NY Senator. It is my understanding
that Judge Simeone is Bob's boyhood friend and he should be applauded for not turning his back on a troubled friend. This is rare today especially in politics.Bob DiCarlo is the godfather of the Judges child and I believe visa versa. They may have also served as best men at each other's weddings. No one seems to appreciate loyalty and friendship anymore.Knowing that the Judge will probably hurt his own chances most politicians would have ran for cover to save their own hides.Kudos Bob.God bless you.
As far as the Judge goes I know him personally from the late Chairman Curcio.Judge Simeone used to push Pat's wheelchair before he was elected but unfortunately stopped after the election.I guess he got what he wanted.I want to know why he thinks he try to cut the line on section 8 housing just because his mother was sick my mother was sick too and passed last January. She was #79 on the waiting list for only 19 homes. There are many people who are further down the list.Aren't any of them sick?Judge Simeone makes over $135,000 a year I make less than $60,000.What he did should be punished some how.If not he should make a public apology to everyone and their family on the steps of Babylon Town hall.If he is not willing to do this then he should be arrested or whatever they do in these cases. But he should be given the chance to say he is sorry to all those people.I think ha should be forgiven even for all his other faults even all the adultery and the illegal stuff but first he has to apologize to everyone and then he can start over again.
Bob DiCarlo on the other hand is a good guy who doesn't do anything like the Judge and he is just guilty of standing by his bud.People in his area should vote for him and maybe give the Judge another chance if he does the public apology. If not then he should be removed or whatever they do to guys like him.Off to work I go.

I just read this thing again.WOW what is wrong with this guy.Glory of God.Yeah I'll say the Judge falls short of that alright. This guy Kenneth I know too from Curcio. He was always with Pat at things like St,Joe's day and John Anthony's.He's gone off the deep end.And I used to say Simeone was a nice guy.I take that all back. This guy is as corrupt as they come.If you google Ettore Simeone you've gotta see some of the really bad stories that the NY Times wrote about him and other papers as well.He is a really, really horrible Judge because of what he did with his mistress and he made decisions about her business without telling the other side. How did stay on the bench?Does anyone know how he pulled that off.I'm sick of defending this lowlife and I won't do it anymore.Just because he's a conservative party member.Glory of God my foot.
Remember, Bobby Dicarlo did none of this stuff.NONE OF THIS.So it be nice
if Newsday and others refer to Judge Simeone as just one bad apple(ok a really bad apple)but that one rotten
guy doesn't spoil the whole bunch.
Now I'm really late.

Whatever he did - if he isn't whiter than Caesar's wife (morally speaking, not racially, of course) then he should be sacked from the bench. No ifs or buts. To do otherwise would prejudice the justice system and cast it into disrepute with the public (which already appears to be happening.)

You guys have no idea how corrupt is this Ettore Simeone.!!!!
Granted all judges sooner or later do things that are not correct, ethically, morally
or legally, this usually goes on the longer they are on the bench (it's to much power for mere mortals).
But if ever a REAL investigation would be done on this so call judge. You guys would be left with your mouth open when what is found gets published.

Twenty five years ago, the young Assistant District Attorneys would "work the files" in the afternoon and early evening before the next day's court calendar. If you really wanted to get to the heart of the seventy cases you had on for the next day, it could take a while. I was pretty good at it, and kept returning calls to witnesses and branching out to other witnesses to get a feel for the actual event. When I would leave in the evening, there was always one guy left. I would walk past Ed Simeone's room and see him handwriting notes into the file on the conversations that, for all I knew, would continue for another few hours.

Ed's given up his shot, whatever it was at reelection, and that is probably a good thing for him personally. But if anyone thinks that the bench losing a guy who tried harder than any of the rest of us to get the facts right is a positive for society, my take on it is you should guess again.

I have assisted many victims of domestic violence in Judge Simeone's courtroom. Over the years one thing has always been proven true over and over again - he is an extremely fair judge. He is excellent at 'cutting through the bull-shit' and he's for the victim (the true victim) and for the kids. Of all the Judge's in Family Court in CI he is the absolute best. We will all be loosing a great Judge if he step's down. I fear for the future of Family Court without him.

I have been in Judge Simeone's coutroom, years ago he was presiding over my son's case. He listened quite well the the attractive social worker who was "prosecuting" my son instead of helping him. Whatever she told him he assumed was gospel. I was made to wait out in the hall and when I went in only heard the stories she gave him and were now to be "punished". We were NEVER allowed to repute or argue what he had been told by her and was now the "truth". Doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists were all poo-pooed in favor of the information this woman gave him. I wondered at the time if something was not right and was told to never mention that as my child was at stake. Well they took my child anyway and ruined his life as well as the rest of the family. I wrote to this judge after my child was gone and told him that I felt this woman had undue influence over his courtroom and had been told by her "I have a judge who will do whatever I want, so you better cooperate with me or you will lose your child". I felt that the judge needed to know what this woman was saying about his courtroom and that it indeed was not appropriate. I sent a personal and confidential letter, of course, never heard from him but now feel quite vindicated that my initial feelings were correct. This judge could be influenced by an attractive female and allow them to determine the outcome of cases. He never listened to our side and in fact was hostile to our attorney who apparently had had previous dealings with him and Judge Simeone was quite aggressive and hostile at everything he said. This is not justice. I come from a long line of law enforcement family members, my own brother, a Suffolk County Police officer kept asking me what i was not telling him because he could not believe that this was happening to my family. I have now been turned off to justice I just do not believe that this system is correct and this judge who held the power in his hands abused that power and has destroyed a child, his family and their sense of pride in this system and country.

I cant get the "full story link" for this story , in short what is this judge accused of ?
Almost every judge needs to be taken back to reality, they are not gods and need to be reminded.
Judges like Joseph Farneti of Suffolk Family court is a disgrace and should forfeit all of his assets to reimburse the fathers that he screwed.

Well folks... Ettore Simeone is no longer a judge. However, He is still working at Family Court with the new title of referee in charge of Permanency Hearings for children in foster care. How do we get rid of this guy? He still has some of same powers that he did on the bench.
