All very well and good to say he's sorry now, but a man is dead and he was not a threat to the NYPD up on a ledge 10 feet above the ground. Even if your superior told you to taser him, you own common sense and sense of humanity should have kicked in and you would think twice before doing what you did, but NO, the NYPD has a culture that says Blacks and Hispanics are disposable and so they don't have to give as much thought to them as if this incident had occurred in Borough Park, Brooklyn. In Borough Park they would have climbed that fire escape and gotten to that guy before he could have hurt himself because he could not have hurt them with a flourescent light from way up there. NYPD IS TRIGGER HAPPY IN BLACK AND HISPANIC NEIGHBORHOODS. We need to police our own people. KEEP THE NYPD OUT!!!

I'm sure the guy (Officer) is sorry but common sense never entered into the decision to "Taz" the poor guy; and not the taxpayers are left holding the bag when the family sues the crap out of the city.

I guess the 17% raise was not enough!

Personally, I would have left him up their and not bothered. If the family can't control him, how is anyone else supposed to?

How can these neighborhoods police their own people when they cannot get along with each other or take care of their own?

If you don't want help from the police...don't call them. Case closed.
