"The degree of the weapon charge is based on Trent's eight previous convictions for crimes committed between 1991 and 2007, the police said."
Seriously, what is wrong with our legal system? I remember when Patchogue was a decent place, but that was many years ago.

I'm just surprised that Newsday spelled Patchogue correctly.

No it's not, you don't have a clue, my friend. The article refers to a drug bust in East Patchogue, which, as another poster says is synonymous with North Bellport. Patchogue has it's problems, but nothing like that area of E Pat & N Bellport.

Patchogue is Ghetto?? Let me guess, you've lived on long island your whole life huh? You sound like a moron saying that, maybe when your mom extends your curfew past 10 pm you can take a lil road trip and see what else is out there besides suffolk county.

I happen to live in East Patchogue; grew up in Belle Terre in Port Jeff...I live South of South Country, and E.P., is not a ghetto, nor is Bellport....we live a block from the beach and --yes, Patchogue is shady in parts, but every town has issues....thanks, but no thanks for the insult.

What a steaming pile of BS...that particular neighborhood is rough around the North Bellport and East Patchogue border, but the general area is fine. Stop the nonsensical exaggerating and misconceptions.

for the idiot who dragged Patchogue-medford schools into the discussion, scherger avenue is the South Country School District as it is in Bellport. Go learn a map, and get a clue instead of spewing your senselessness on here.

Hopefully that school wasn't affected by his activity. God knows they have enough problems ie: passing a budget, retaining wrestlers, etc...

I live in Patchogue Village and we love it. There is a BIG difference
between where we live and the East Patchogue/Bellport area.
