Sayville Beach has been closed by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services after finding bacterial levels in excess of acceptable criteria.

Honestly and truthfully I wouldn't swim at that beach if it was open..Take a ride down Browns River and check out the water,very scary...You have commercial vessels pumping oil,which of course they claim they don't, and some boats dumping human waste illegally,especially acouple pf the live ons,which also aren't legal.Leaving the river early in the am you can observe all of the above...Report it to the authorities and all you get is the run around...When the tide goes out you have that water along the beach area,in other words,pollution...
