Just curious about all the comments. It sounds like some of you know each other and some may be CO's but I must say it's sad the way some of y'all are carrying on. NFCF should definately be closed down. It's sad at the lack of training the CO's have and they are rude and lack compassion for inmates and their families. There is more to consider than just CO's and thier jobs.
Seriously. This is the most ignorant comment of them all. Lack of compassion for inmates? So C/O's are supposed to be compassionate toward baby rapists and murderers? I agree that you give respect and you will get it but as far as compassion....you need to go kick rocks and talk this bs somewhere else. These inmates are treated better than our own inmates in the prisons in Oklahoma.

The words of two or three people do not reflect NFCF as a whole. We support each other every day and help one another inside the gates and out.

A lot of COs are nedw because we lose a lot to the oil field, but there are lots of great people that work there. They are honest and dedicsted. They work to reduce recidivism. You're talkin about my family when you bad mouth NfCF. No job is perfect and most ofthose talking us down do not work there and are misinformed, so how bout just give us a break and let us enjoy Christmas with our families. We got the disturbance under control in record time and we have done wonders in getting things back up and going again. Talking smack isn't going to help anyone, esspecially Sayre and Beckham County.

I have a question... My brother has been in Oklahoma for four years now in Sayre. Im researching for him; He has about 16 more months to go, but he wants to know what is the goverment talking about as far as him getting out early. Their saying if they let inmates go home early. Does anybody know about that?

So tell you kids to quit buying drugs then. It's illegal anyway. Some of us actually work for a living and the prison is our livlihood. It sounds like your kids are doing illegal stuff anyway so it won't matter if inmate's families move to this area.

No, all NFCF inmates from Ca will finish their sentence in a Ca prison.

This prison is being ran by a bunch of children, name calling is for grade school kids. This form and all the forms under Syare shine light on why so many people in the surrounding county's are HIV positive . Most of the poulation carry on like their uneducated, Study's show they act very uneducated.
I would guess the State of California DOC didn't think of California's Public Safety, City of Sayre, and the Beckham County have a very small populations 73% of people ages 17-36 as of 2011are affected with herpes, HIV and other STDs.
Anyone with family members located in this prison, I would advice them to get tested regularly from now on and contuining up to a year after living the prison in Sayre.

Excuse me, dear. But, if you will read your own post, you appear to not be very well educated yourself. Let's not throw rocks when we live in glass houses.

Well my family and I have went and visited our loved one at NFCF. The trip is really expensive, but it is worth the trip just to be able to spend time with him! On the other hand, yes all work places have those staff who are rude, even at my work place. I guess us outsiders just figured that those who work at a Correctional Facility should be professional in all aspects in the work place. They are the ones who are the role models for these men who are incarcerated. Not all staff at NFCF are rude, but me and my family have personally experienced more rude than nice staff. We just pray for them though.

Those employed should start looking for new jobs. As for those who say they hope this place DOESN'T get shut down, how dare you. So many families don't have a chance to visit their loved ones. It's heartbreaking. Can't wait for them to come home!:)

Boy, I'm guessing you are a practicing moron. How dare us hope that we keep our jobs? If your family member weren't a criminal, he wouldn't be here and you could visit him at home. Maybe you should place the blame where it belongs and quit whining about us doing our jobs.

You know that's pretty stupid. Just cause your loved one is in there doesn't mean it should shut down. Some people work there to make an honest living and need that job. It is not their fault your loved one did wrong and went to prison.

To all the CO's and everyone else working at NFCF keep on doing what your doing. Paying your own bills ;feeding your family's; honest work always pays off. Who cares if you work as a prison grad, someone has to do the job. People crying about their loved ones being so far away need to stop Enabling their Incarcerated family members. prisoners need to learn a lessons This mite stop them from breaking the law the next time . These prisoners have family that love them , but they don't love their family's or they wouldn't be their in the first place. Inmates use females family who ever they can to get what they want ! Poor family's maybe, poor prisoner NEVER! To all the females on this form . I bet each one of your men, husbands, baby daddy's ,calls other females writes other females. believe me they all do it.

To those of you that are so stuck on the fact that you dont get to see your loved one bc he is in prison out of state... keep in mind the officers work long hours for several days in a row and they too spend a lot of time away from their loved ones to take care of yours. Believe it or not, the inmates at NFCF have it pretty good compared to most other pprisions, ESP those in Cali and are also much safer bc the level of security is much better and there are less incidents here then in Cali. For prisoners... they are pretty well taken care of because as officers thats the job we are suppossed to do.. safety n security of the inmates. They commited a crime and need to do the time and learn from thier mistakes regardless of what state they are serving the time in. AS officers we deal with a lot of disrespet and hate towards us and still come to work everyday and take care of them while they play video games and get free cable. and they do not appreciate it at all... so think about that when you worry about not getting to see them... they are in prison for a reason.. juss saying

Lol. Just wow, like if you guys seriously think we're still getting a contract then you need to reassess the situation. Majority of us got tossed to shyt hole louisiana because we're doomed. They don't need us. Has anyone mention we shut down over HALF of our units. I'll do the math for you 1080....

I work at Toshs across the street from CCA. I see a large percentage of the staff members EVERY SINGLE DAY. I can promise you that the COs, contractor supervisors, maintainence staff, admin. Staff, and others who work there DO actually care about their job performance and treating the inmates fairly but firmly. They have to put on the "tough guy (or girl)" face otherwise the inmates will walk all over them. I hear the CO / SORT teams outside training frequently. And do you know how often staff comes into the store after a training day, covered in pepper spray or whatever they use? Its quite often. These men and women are still dedicated to their jobs, even though theres a big black cloud looming in the distance. Hell, would you leave your family for days at a time, pay rent in crappy trailers, or drive from okc to sayre TWICE daily, as at least 2 staff members that I know of do, if you didnt truly care about your job? I think not. Stop being so harsh and disrespectful. They are doing the best that they can.
Thank you for your support. When it comes to me I have been a CO for 4 years now. I'm on my 3rd facility..I love what I do , however no one knows what we go through..So to see outside support it really means alot. Thank you.

On the facility issue. Yea it isn't looking to peachy and if NFCF goes down no one understands the impact it will have for the area of Sayre , Elk , etc...I'm one of the ones who went to Louisiana just to keep money coming in for my wife and son. Yet so many people look down on us.. I haven't seen my family in over a week now just so I can have a paycheck.. people just don't get it...
