So who screwed up the egg hunt? Paper said it started at 1:30, got there at 1:15 & it was over. I was told that it started over a half an hour earlier than it was supposed to. Lots of disappointed kids & pissed off parents. So who's fault was it? The city's or the newspaper's? Own up.

You talking about Cheyenne? Paper clearly states registration at 11:00 and the "Easter egg hunt will start promptly at noon".

I don't know who messed it up. I had a very disappointed 2 year old who cried all the way home. We got there at 1:07 and it was over.

Ive noticed sometimes posts for some towns show up in another towns. I'm thinking the paper had the time wrong. Chamber of Commerce said 1pm guessing the only kids that got to hunt were related to or friends with someone at the city or the prison cause a LOT of people missed it.

Ummm.....as many misspelled words as I see in the paper and after this... I will be checking with whomever is holding an event for accurate dates and times from now on.

Truth, it has nothing to do with the true meaning of Easter and we instill that in our children & grandchildren.(I am sure your kids have hunted eggs at Easter.) However, we also hunt eggs as a tradition every year including the Alumni Egg Hunt. When kids get so excited about it only to be disappointed that it is already over when they get there it's hard for them to understand. You cannot tell me that not one person involved in planning it didn't see that the paper had the time wrong. The right thing to do would have been to postpone the start of it 30 minutes for all to enjoy since many of us who have moved away only get our information from the paper (which I love and subscribe to). By the way, when I used to live here I did volunteer to help with Alumni & other events. Granted that was several years ago but being at such a distance makes it impossible now. But when I could I enjoyed every minute of it. Now we bring back our grandkids for the festivities and love having them be a part of the tradition that we and our children enjoyed. A Thank You to all who helped make it all happen....a simple double check of the times announced for activities will prevent future issues. God bless Sayre- my hometown!

Maybe instead of assuming the paper had the time wrong someone should call and see what happened. The information comes from somewhere. Maybe they were not given the correct time.
