To the writer of this article: Bullets don't go flying when heated and not contained within the barrel of a rifle or other gun. The energy is not directed and therefore the casing that holds the gun powder might explode sending minute fragments of brass about but the bullet is too heavy to be moved significantly without directional energy.

You've been watching too many Lone Ranger episodes.

Was the fire in which his daughter died the fire on or near the McKusker road? I seem to remember a fire at or near that road in Athens where a 5 year old girl was lost.

I hope you find some peace Mr. French.

I too remember there was a fire about that time frame where a little girl died and I also heard KMA advise that there was a person trapped in a trailer and the first firefighter on the scene advised that there was no hope, home fully involved and it was then horrible to hear it was a child. Was it this poor man's daughter? I feel for this guy, he reached the point of no return but if it was his wish to be with his wife and daughter then he is now at peace with them and my heart goes out to his other family members.

You are right VT CITIZEN that was the fire you remembered years back and judging by the fact Mr. French placed his truck in his driveway he didnít want to hurt any firemen that would arrive at the scene with ammo in the house. I always. thought that fire and gunpowder was a dangerous mix to.

My heart goes out to the family and all the firemen that tried their best at both fires past and present

You may have misread the situation. Mr. French was still living there. Perhaps Dixon bought it so the bank wouldn't take it and throw him out.

Yeah poor man his kid died in a fire because his home had no smoke detectors and oh yeah after he went on a big spending spree with the insurance money. Karma is a bitch and guilt will get the best of you sooner or later !!

Agreed. It only takes one simple thing overlooked or forgotten to cause a tragedy. It may well be what was bothering him. No amount of spending will replace a loved one and apparently it didn't in this case either. May they rest in peace.
