How much does it cost to run these lights?
How much will be save or conserved?
Aside from Mike Ghia's opinions what studies exist on the safety aspects of having or not having lights?
Are any of the lights that Mr Ghia wants to turnoff near public buildings that need all the protection they can get?
I seem to remember a story some time ago when somone wanted to cahmneg out to a different style of light that was more efficient the twon would lose the beneficial rate they received for using utility provided lights rather than getting rid of lights perhaps.

why cant there be a street light that operates on motion or weight on the side walks or crosswalks
this could be useful in 2 ways
1 it would save on electric and 2 it would alert police of activities in the area.
dont see alot of need for light on at 3 am everywhere all the time

at least half your questions are answered in the article.

I am chagrined, though not surprised, that the real story of the night at that meeting isn't mentioned here. Did you lose your spine Howard?

No 1/2 my questions were not answered:

Yes a gross number of $19,000 was provided, but the devil is in details lets hear how much individual lights cost, also how much will it cost to remove the lights I am assuming the power comapny or town would either want to use them elswhere or recoup their salvage value.?

Did they look into simply changing out the existing lights to see if the saving could be even greater does not say so.

Not mention of the amount of electricity or power saved is made.

And I personally don't care about the rest of the soap opera. D did not want publicity so Howie did not give it!

Howie always seems to give publicity. Why change now ? This isn't the first board Mr Thomson quit on.
