BISD is going to need a loan to pay the water bill for the grass at I.W. Evans. they are watering almost non stop (even in the rain) and several sprinkler heads are broken off creating a geyser. Water is flooding down Center and Main.
If I can see it every day, why can't any school Officials ?

Got news for you: the artificial surface for the stadium will eat up one-third of that three million. That leaves two million, and a lot of the improvements are for athletics. BISD is really burning up the world athletically these days......

Is there an itemized list of how much $ is going to each of the improvements?

Did ALL district employees receive a 3% raise as Dr. B indicated at the Rotary meeting? I have heard mixed stories.

Well how do you want to look at it. All would be a NO. With a teachers steps for experience most got several percent then a stipend was given that created 1,000 so most yes however there pay was not raised. I know that is hard to follow but a stipend can be gone tomorrow a pay raise can't. Marvin speaks wisely and is smart but you have to take a close look. If a teacher was maxed on their steps they got no increase in pay or salary hike only a stipend. Our local pay scale was not raised

By all means let us deepen the feed bin, the public does not spend enough on government employees. All of those wonderful BISD employees deserve a pay raise. A stipend could be gone but put all the goodies in an irreversible package for Texas' babysitters.

If you really feel like teachers are just babysitters, please get a background check, and take over in a classroom for a week! You can pass a background check, right?

Maybe the loans and the improvements should be put on hold until the mess with the CFO is cleared up and taken care of.

I noticed that the water for the new sod was coming straight out of a water hydrant on the corner of the property. Not sure if that is being billed to the school or if the city is eating that cost. If there is no meter on the hydrant how can they measure how much water is being used?

I am not of that low of a life form. How effective are those background checks? Apparently, not too effective.

If teachers are vetted with a thorough background check in the state of Texas I am wondering what is permissible and what is disqualifying. I have experienced some real winners. I run a consumer business and credit checks for most educators I have dealt with show too many dings for a reliable person. Just like a run of the mill government worker to me.

Football turf is l.4 million of three million. Beaty and the board know they can't pass another bond so they are putting it to the public by borrowing money much like putting it on a credit card and paying later at a high interest rate. They say no tax increase but there will be one some time. Beaty is a sneaky little snake who will be gone in a year or two and leaving us holding the bills.

That is what I like about these forums. Folks have insight and tell it like it is. Most of educrats, social workers, and so called adminstrative specialists affiliated with the education racket are sneaky little, or lard assed, snakes. They specialize in sticking it to people who pay property taxes, with or without house apes to educate. They are getting more inventive as the resources in this country are dwindling. They will soon find out that so called sheeple are waking up to the corruption.
