I was out in my yard one night, out here in the east country, and I heard a scream that sounded like a woman was getting her throat cut! An old timer told me it was a panther.

I saw one to my brother and i was fixin my race truck and had it sitting on blocks and one jumped out and started to attack my brother who was laying under the truck and it probably would have killed him but my boston terrier came running and jumped that panther and fought him off of my brother and chased him into the woods. That dog hats panthers and thats a fact . I live over in Doyle holler at jotem down.

Most likely a fox. If you have never heard one at night, it can be a very disturbing scream. I have one by the house that I hear all the time and it still can send a shiver down your spine

Don't slaughter the poor thing. He is just trying to live in peace. What is it with you people who like to shoot everything?!? We are already doing a pretty good job of eradicating every unique species off the planet as it is.
Please keep in mind, in the long run, if every single human disappeared from the earth, animals (except for maybe cows and little useless dogs like pugs and bijons) would thrive without people. However, if all the animals disappeared, we are screwed!
And I'm not some Libby TreeHugger - I just happen to respect nature and am saddened by how we are trashing our planet.

My son heard a scream, looked out the front door, shined a light out and saw what looked like a black panther. We live in Shiloh Falls in Pickwick, TN.

I live in the Pickwick area. We fed wildlife for years in our backyard. This included raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes and deer. All of the wildlife is now gone and we don't see anything except a few large cat tracks.

A black panther crossed the road in front of me one night recently in front of Jon's Pier, which is now Cafe St. Clair. Jet black with bright yellow eyes when the headlights shone on them. It's tail was as long as it was.

My friend and I saw what had to have been a panther back a few years ago in Hardin County just a few miles outside of Clifton Tn. It was jet black with a long tail. It was about the size of a Lab. I had no idea there was such a thing in this area and wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
