What a joke. Per Savannah Courier 5th grader at east Hardin suppended and sent to alternative school for pretending his chair legs were a gun. An 11 year old child thrown under the bus.
Have we forgotten John Thomas. Did he have any input in the decision. If so what was his opinion. Did the same school board that looked the other way for Saint John render the final guilty verdict for this child. School Board, you all are a bunch of morally sicko, cowardly, incompetent, hipocrites. You are the ones who should be suspended

Well I am not in favor of the name calling (it takes away from your credibility, IMO) but I do 100% agree that they threw this child under the bus. Guns in schools is serious business but this is the south, where children are raised around guns all their lives and they are allowed to play with toy guns and make-believe while also being taught gun safety in the real world. They didn't even give this kid a chance! They immediately thought the worst! It is a sad day in this country when our little boys are no longer allowed to be boys for fear of being treated like hardened criminals.

I think there is more to this story than a child pretending to play with a gun. This kids is the same kid that bullied my kids. So I'm sure its not just about pretending to play with a gun.

Now the truth hits home. There are people walking among us that would do something like this. If anyone thinks that attitude will stay only in the schools think again. Before long any of us might be facing a judge for some words or action that we made that was harmless. "Welcome to the police state" or "political correct". No difference.

There is lot more to this than what was in the paper. Do you want other kids protected or not?

My child is in his class and has gone to school with him for years. He is a bully. He has done more then one thing. And been in trouble alot. There is more to this story then anyone is telling. The courier needs to get the facts. Any other parents have kids in his class? If u do then u know what I'm talking about.

So you think it's okay to "bully" the bully? Don't you think that might be the reason he is a bully???

Today's society would rather hide their problems in a closet, or in this case alternative-school, forget about them, and hope they get better...(Hypothetical) Maybe instead of teaching them that bullying is wrong, lets just dumb them down with some sychotropic drugs...

Ah, The redneck rhetoric trying to shift the blame back on the school officials and teachers for the child's poor upbringing. The behavior isn't something that fell out of the sky,it's something he learned or experienced at home. When kids get in serious trouble with school officials, maybe law enforcement needs to keep a watchful eye on what's going on at home.

Got a kid in the same class. Yep, more to the story than you think. I asked mine what happened. Ya'll shouldn't believe everything you read in the local trash sheet. It's slanted to what the writer perceives is the truth around here. Kid was acting stupid. Plain and simple truth. He should have been in there to learn something not acting like a damn fool while my kid and others are trying to learn their lessons. Maybe this is a good one for him and the parents to learn. Nuff said.

So what if no one does anything and later on a violent act against an innocent child occurs resulting in death or serious injury. Then who do you criticize? Do you really believe that only one incident warrants such serious action?
