Tell me how a bar owner can serve drinks, let the people leave his bar, drive home drunk, and then go to work as a jailer and babysit the same drunks after they are arrested. Yes, it's true a part-time jailer at the HCSD is the owner of a sports bar on the west side of the river.....Great choice in the hiring process.

Are you seriously judging the character of someone because they work 2 jobs as a bar owner and a jailer? Theres nothing wrong with the aspect of doing both jobs. Sounds like another political jab cheap shot than a legitamite argument. I dont see ANYTHING wrong with it! Besides, he's a jailer & can't harass his customers as if he was a deputy or something. What would that have to do with him doing his or her job correctly. At least he is open minded & not so narrow minded as yourself. I dont know of these rumors to be true anyway but who cares!

i have to agree, this should not be allowed.
our local city police officers are not allowed to go to places such as freddy t's or the moose lodge while not on duty.
the same should be true for the county employees.
yes, a jailer position is not the same as a deputy, but the same principals should be in place.
i would like to know who the jailer is and/or what bar this is.

The city police is not old enough to get in the bars!! They are still kids themselves. Them rules only apply in the bible belt region. I took that belt off moons ago. You gotta do what you got to do rather than worry about who is a jailer...I have had enough of this smalll town trying to control everyones lives & what they do on there spare time. I talked with the jail admin & he said they ARE NOT allowed to be in the bars. Although i disagree with it. The JA said that is BS. Who were you referrring to anyway???

Are bars illegal? Is it against the law for someone to patronize a bar? What about a restaurant with a "bar?" Do police and sherrif's deputies face different laws than myself? I think it is humorous to think that a government agency can tell someone what they can and cannot do on their time off unless it is completely ILLEGAL! We live in a democratic, constitutionally based society and that is completely unconstitutional! The city and county wouldn't stand a chance if they tried to reprimand an officer for going to an establishment that Legally serves Legal alcohol. Does it make them a bad person because it's "immoral?". Who says it's immoral? The bible? What If they aren't a Christian? Should they be reprimanded for that, too? Why don't you let the Bible remain in the Church and let the Church remain seperate from the state like the law of the land says it should? Oh, and keep on reading the Bible. Last time I checked, it said not to pass judgement on anyone.

I believe a bar is different than a restaurant that serves alcohol in this case. And the restriction applies to bars within the county.

Now there is one I've never heard of before... a bar that cuts people off after a couple!!! Face it, LOL, bars don't make money until their patrons are good and sloppy drunk. Try again, LOL...

Nice people, this man has done nothing wrong and I know for a fact it is no secret that he owns this resturant. And no doubt that his superiors know also. I hope all you self rightous people are happy. All of this talk could get him fired. The man is just trying to make ends meet and take care of his family. WTF

WTF first it's a Grill & Bar not just a Rest.and if it could get him fired then it may not be right and maybe he should choose to work for someone who will not throw him under the bus when things look bad.

Country Bumpkin said that the JA did admit this is against the rules of the HCSD, but it was BS. El Diablo gave the name of the bar as being Kyle's. Don't Know said that Mr. Kyle's superiors know about him owning the bar. All this is true. But if it's against department rules, what are rules for? Is this the kind of leadership we want? Someone who makes their own rules and then changes them if it suits them?

This is not a bar!!! Its a restraunt that serves alcohol. A bar is a bar. Like Wal-mart! I guess whoever works at Wal-mart cant work at the jail too! Wal-Mart sells alcohol...Also the JA BS comment was answering another comment previously discussed. You still on here PATRIOT after getting busted commenting your own posts over & over spreading bad mouth gossip.

They are responsible for their self. Have you ever ate at logans roadhouse, chili's, applebees, etc. Sure you have and i bet you loved it. whats the difference they are all bar and grills.

It states in the H.C.S.D. policy that you cannot patronize {working in one as well} any bar or club that promote sells of alcohol by the drink inside Hardin County while as a employee of the Hardin County Sheriffs Dept. All of the other establishments you have metioned are not in Hardin County.Boy' if you are Sammy's campaign manager or the kind helping to re-elect him his @ss is beat [email protected] Bas*@#d.
