I don't blame him for carrying a gun (IF he is). What if some crazy a*s kid comes into school some day and tries to shoot the whole place up?(which has happened many times before in several other places) Maybe if somebody has a gun around there they can take out the little pyscho before they do further harm to innocent children and teachers. What if there was a terrorist in the building planning on blowing up the school? Guns are not bad when used properly...PEOPLE are bad.

On us!!! You all need to leave John alone he has the best interests of the teachers over the students and tax payers in this county. With him be a socialist I worry that he may not know which end of the barrel that goes bang!!! Hope the sheriff gave him some range time and familiarization with that weapon if this is true. I would hate to see the lawsuits that the county would get if he accidentally shot a poor 1st grader.

would he know why the schoolbus drivers in pickwick can use the school bus to go to the grocery store and go to lunch at all the local restaurants and ride their family members around?I was wondering if the county would give us all one.Great deal!!

I know that John Thomas is an a**h****, but I don't believe that even he is dumb enough to carry a gun on school property.

Him and Massey are like that? Why is Massey as personal supervisor given complete authority over who gets hired and fired below the Supt/Manager level. That is completely gay. One or the other needs to go if Massey can do the Supt/Manager job for 53,000 a year we need to send John and his 90,000 dollar a year salary off to early retirement.

Tis true that John Thomas was stopped in the Hardin County Middle School by the Deputy posted there for public safety,,,,the matter was referred to the Sheriff's Dept and the DA for this area,,,,the DA is supposed to figure out if Thomas had a legal right to carry in a public shool,,,, the only people who are authorized to carry are bonafide law officials ,,,that's according to state and federal law ,,,,but according to John Thomas this is not the first time he has carried in a public school,,,,wonder what the Sheriff's Dept would do to one of us "ordinary citizens" ?? Can you see "ON the floor,,,hands behind your back,,swat team clearing the school while on lock down,,county jail,,finger printing,,,booking ,,making bail ,,,hearing before a local judge ,,,even loosing your gun rights ,,,,might even catagorize you as a terroist ,,,,warrant to search your house for any "weapons or such" ,,,,Yes Charlotte , favoritism still exists !!

Why would John Thomas feel it necessay for him to carry a loaded gun anywhere, much less a school. Good Lord, he must have more enemies than people think. And they must be of a more dangerous variety thean ordinary citizens. What is going on around here??

Someone needs to find out if this is true!! I've made several phone calls, and from all accounts it is the truth, then he needs to be removed form office ASAP!! He's only a figurehead for the public anyway; a very expensive figurehead I might add. Let Mark Massey move into the position for the time being. The buck stops with him anyway, not with Thomas. The only thing that he takes credit for is calling school off when the weather is bad. If the truth be known, I bet he has someone else make that decision and then he just does the all-call. Also, the thinks he is so clever that he has moved into the position as director of schools and has got other people doing his job that he does act like he is above the law. Furthurmore, he's bound to think we're all too dumb to see through him or else he wouldn't do it to the extent that he does. Yep, I be he laughs his butt off every month when he gets his big check....all the way to the bank!

Have the county commission kick Thomas's pay back to teacher level then place Massey in as Supt of Schools at the 53,000 dollar pay scale not the 90,000 plus. I bet Massey will not let his new personnel supervisor make the final hire fire decision then.

How does it feel to be a deacon in the CofC? Bet it is not like being in a Baptist church.....

So is Massey called "Elder" and you have to take instruction from him at church and at work? So you sold your soul for how much ???

No director of schools, or superintendant, as we use to call them, has ever had a personnel supervisor before Thomas came along. Shouldn't that, by the very definition of his job title, be his job anyway? We all need to really pay attention to who we vote for in the next election for school board members and county commissioners. We've got to do something!!!
