This is such a terrible tragedy. It just comes to show you never know what will happen. The people were doing their job and bam the next min. dead. The worse way to die is to be burnt to death. You are still alive and feeling it. My sympathy goes out to these people and their family.

Crump, TN - A driver was pronounced dead on HWY 64 west of Crump, Tennessee late this afternoon following a head-on collision. The accident was reported to have occurred at around 3:30 PM.

According to a release from the Hardin County Fire Department, the collision occurred between two wreckers. One of the wreckers was reported to have a vehicle in tow.

Crump Engine-1, arriving on the scene at approximately 3:37, reported to other responding agencies that one or both of the vehicles were on fire.

The report states that one of the driver's escaped injury while the driver of the vehicle that burned was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident, fire and investigation closed east and westbound traffic on a short stretch of HWY 64 for over an hour.

The cause of the deadly crash is still under investigation, and the names of both drivers were not readily available.

I hate it for the families, but how does a wreck like that happen? One east bound, one west bound on a 4 lane hywy...?
