I've been hearing whispers that some folks feel that the dogs at K-9 Sanctuary are being abused. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Drive by and see for yourself the condition these poor dogs are in. I heard the house needs to be condemned on the inside. For some reason no one cares about these poor animals. She has been on the news crying about loving them & knowing each & everyone's name. That is a lie. I think everyone in HC should drive by Burnt Church Rd and look what these poor animals and the poor neighbors that see it daily. Pack your bags & head to Florida. The poor dogs would be better euthanized!

I have been in the house and there is nothing wrong with it. And I don't know these people either. I had to go there for business

I was in that house last summer, when we were looking to adopt. She told me herself there were more than 40 dogs, living on the inside. They were in the back yard, the swimming pool is drained and they are even in there. She does have help, and they seem to keep the animals fed and watered, but all of them are tied on chains only a few feet long, in mud and dirt, with a small dog house. There is no way you can excercise and give love and affection to that many animals, so their quality of life can't be that great. But at the same time, at least she has opened up her home and her heart and does the very best she can to give these animals a second chance at life. Even though yes, they have destroyed her house, she does more than I could, and more than many of you could as well.

We stopped by there this afternoon and let me tell you there is some nasty $h!t going on there . I think there is some beastiality going on !!! When I knocked on the door it sounded like a wounded dog screaming and this strange looking German Shepard kid answered the door in a multi colored robe . I asked if I could speak to the manager and he started barking at me. We got the hell out of there plus they have no less than 500 chickens free ranging around there.
This is the correct story

The dogs are kept ACROSS THE ROAD, not even close to the house! They are all in large kennels with play areas. These people are saints for what they do for the unwanted animals in Hardin COunty.

The previous owners kept that place in fine shape.

No dogs across the street. There are a couple hundred in her yard, front and back, and over 40 inside.

My sister volunteered there for a little while and she said it was sad! They are doing the best they can but have WAY to many dogs and not enough help. People show up for a day and never come back. The house isn't in great shape. She has dogs inside, outside, fences, chains. The dogs don't get the proper care because there are so many! They would just jump all over you and do whatever they could to get a little bit of attention. I thought I heard they shut her down though. Maybe not.

We need a better spay and neuter program around here. One pet per family per year just don't cut it. I myself have five dogs, and most people I know have more than one. They don't even do cats anymore.

Update. Most of the dogs are in 10x10x6's on the driveway. Only 2 are on 15 foot cables.

The house needs the floors sanded, stained, and sealed and a few repairs need to be done to window casings and then painted. But the house is not in bad shape. Every dog is healthy. Do we need help? Yes we need help walking and socializing the dogs. Most are spay/neutered. All puppies that come in are kept for an average of 3 weeks before being sent to NY where they are adopted after being sterilized.

I put this post up to gage the response and now I know that most of you don't have a clue. Do we need money to care for the dogs. Yes we do because the only money coming in is from adoptions (not many) and from my military retirement/disability.

Hopefully that clears thing up.

We need help every day. Stop by at 1445 Burnt Church Rd any time between 10 and 2. We work on the outside kennels around that time until they are clean and the dogs fed, watered, and feed pans are picked up. Then we move to the garage to clean and feed, then it's clean the back yard and water both sides. The downstairs is cleaned by someone else daily.
