Are you 100% certain this is true? If not, please don't post it. These families are hurting...both sides. The ones who lost a family member and the ones of the accused as well. I do pray justice is found for this lady. Noone should have to go through that. I don't understand how someone could be so evil as to kill someone else. I just hope justice is served to those found guilty. It won't change what has happened, but maybe it can give the family a little peace in knowing the killer/s have not walked free.

U have to be joking right? U called the jail house to ask if someone has a bail set? Do u personally know this individual and did u have intentions to bail this individual out? Or were u just calling bc ur one of Savannah's finest that can't keep their nose out of places it shouldn't be? I wouldn't put it past that its a rumor.... Actually I will believe the killer is behind bars when the news announces it, not a local who sits on their @$$ gossiping about others bc their life is so damnit boring... That's what's wrong with that town... You "FOLKS" won't work, have nothing exciting going on, so u think gossiping on others brings u joy...SMH get a f'ing life for the rest of the country!!! Oh and get a job bc I'm tired of paying for YOU to sit on ur @$$ while I work nice and hard making my 70k a yr and u enjoy my green on that damnit plastic from ur local stamp office!!!!! Now, keep ur nose out of this FAMILIES business for once in ur damnit life and find something exciting about ur self...

Yes we called, yes I personally know him, No I wouldn't bail them out even if bail was set and I called because I wanted to know fact not rumor. I like every other person around have a right to be interested in what goes on In my community. Unlike some of u who wish we would bury our heads In the sand and ignore the fact that someone just murdered their mother. You people act like we shouldn't be concerned about this terrible tragedy but that attitude is why people get by with terrible crimes everyday. This mind your own business comments is ignorant. When a 71 year old sweet little lady is murdered in my community IT IS MY BUSINESS!

The Courier just posted the story. Charged to answer your question. I don't know anyone involved but I'm sorry such a sweet old lady was murdered by such an evil person. And a 32 year old marrying an 18 year old? That in itself is practically child molestation. That part blew me away. I'm sorry for the family to lose such a loving woman and I'm sorry the family was infected by such evilness. And his child bride assisting? After garnering all that sympathy for losing a child (out of wedlock)? Seems to me that this world is going to hell in a hand basket.

Praying for all the good folks that are grieving and all of the children affected by this horrible event.

I believe this is true but I can also tell you for a fact that the jail will not release that info to just anyone. They do not even tell family what the charges are, only the bail amount. It is up to the offender to tell family what the charge is when they get their phone call. Been there, done that.

U are wrong it is public record when someone is charged with murder. U may not be given details but if u call and ask if a certain person has been arrested on murder charges they have to tell u. Arrest records are not private information it is public record.

SAVANNAH, Tenn.- Two people are now charged with the murder of a Savannah woman.

Christopher Knight, 32, and his wife, 18-year-old Tonya Knight, have each been charged with one count of first degree murder for the death of Chris Knight’s mother, 71-year-old Peggy Alexander.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, on March 10, 2013, Chris Knight called police and reported that he discovered his mother dead in the home that they shared, located at 70 Pickwick Street, that morning after 9:00 a.m.

Through the course of the investigation, agents believe that the Knight’s murdered Alexander in her bedroom between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. that morning. Investigators said evidence was revealed that Alexander’s relationship with her son and daughter-in-law was strained and Alexander expressed a desire to move and change her will in regards to Chris Knight.

Shortly after the murder, authorities report that Chris Knight used Alexander’s debit card and took money out of her account.

TBI’s Violent Crime Response Team from the Memphis crime lab responded to the scene and gathered physical evidence from the scene as well.

The 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office requested TBI to investigate the murder. The Savannah Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Chris and Tonya Knight were booked into the Hardin County Jail. This is right off wbbj website!!!!!!!
