Nice place to post about this wonderful town. I do not live here, but please tell me about your home.
It is my ex town, here's why I left. It's being ran over by yankees. Robberies are common, killings, homeless people begging, overbearing blacks. This is just a few reasons I left.

It is not the Savannah that I grew up in.

No, it is not a B&B set up. I toured it several years ago. It has a magnificant ballroom. This should take you to the photo gallery.

This may be true, but why would you attribute the rise in crime to "yankees"? I plan on visiting this lovely city, I don't care whether the current residents are transplanted northerners or Savannah born and bred. There are good and bad people eveywhere. If someone is kind to me, I'm kind to them. God Bless you, I hope and pray you overcome your phobia.

You must be dumber than a bag of dirt, noone said yankees cause crime. Phobia? It's more like hate!

I think you're right about him, but please don't judge all Kentuckians by that piece of work. I used to live there and knew many great folks.

Now we live in Tennessee and spent a week in Savannah. We hung around downtown all week and didn't see any evidence of crime at all, much less unusually large amounts. Although, I did see a huge line of almost all blacks waiting to get into the court building at 8:45 a.m. one morning. But you see that everywhere, I suppose.

A couple homeless folks were lying around but again, that is not unique to Savannah. They weren't obnoxious.

The city is beautiful beyond description in its own way, and if you leave there hungry, you must be blind and deaf. There are great restaurants everywhere! Pricey, though. The churches are magnificent and some will give you tours if you find the right person. Of particular interest is the "Mother Church of Georgia," as described on the historical marker out front, which is Christ Church, an old Episcopal church where John Wesley once preached.

The squares, which are everywhere, are little parks that are really rectangles. Each has its own interest and most are quite beautiful. Statues, monuments and historical markers are everywhere. I've never seen so many in my life.

Savannah is worth a visit. I didn't see any yankees misbehaving anywhere. In fact, nearly every license plate was southern.
