I have to agree with the other person that replied to this, unless jesus is a large hispanic man, he don't have a thing to do with this. His parents should be in prison in the same cell with them. period. To say Jesus or anyone or anything else has "failed" these kids is just lame, trying to place blame everywhere but where it belongs - THE PARENTS.
Parents are not allowed to discipline there kids any more because of INDIANA CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES. parents are afraid if they whip there kids they will go to jail... It happened to me, spanked my daughter, left a bruise, spent the better part of three years going from juvenile court to criminal court. SO do not blame all parents . If you had a brain you would know this.

IF they took a chemistry lesson, they'd know it realeases HYDROGEN gas and nothing remotely dangerous, let alone deadly.
The media alters stories to get viewers...think that's anything new?
They deserve an ass beating, but they don't deserve to be treated as terrorists.
Yeah nothing dangerous about HYDROGEN gas...ask the people that were on the Hindenburg...that is the ones that survived.

Heck, when I was young I made a couple. These are no more dangerous than an M80. All of you who dont know what a "works bomb" is, please...go to YouTube.com and do a search for it. Stupid prank or not, the boys did this, they did not think about what would happen if they got caught. This is not the old times any more, and it is because of people like these kids who think they will not get caught. look at all the school shootings and murders of innocent people. If you did not know these stupid kids, how would you feel then?

Well, hoosier boy, I AM in indy, and these doofuses were not. They did their nasty little deed in South Carolina, so either Mommy and Daddy (or is that Aunt Grandma and Uncle Daddy?) took them on vacation with a bomb or bomb making material in the car or plane (scary thought) or they were trying to blow up something where they thought that they wouldn't be caught. As far as your not wanting responses back about your age, I think that you should keep your underaged opinions to yourself. This is why adults say "children should be seen and not heard".

.

Relatively good kid, what exactly does that mean?

We were making 'working bombs' in the 50's when I was a kid. It was illegal then as it is now. Yes, they are more dangerous than M80's. The M80's are manufactured under controlled manufacturing methods. Yes, we had kids severly injured with M80's and home made ordinance.

Georgia authorities should require these kids to return after school is out for the summer and spend a month helping clean up the damage from the recent tornados. They should also have to pay for all of their expenses and work for free. If I were the judge that is what I would do.

Approx. 6 months ago a kid was killed when their bomb exploded in the back yard of one of his friends northeast of Cincinnati. He was a kid with a stellar educational record and had an excellent future. The kids set the bomb to explode and took cover. The kid that was killed was 50' away and killed by shrapnel. You are correct, they are no more dangerous than an M80.

The only 'smart ass' in this comment is you. I was reared in Indy and went to one of the best schools in the 50's and early 60's. Tell me, Einstein, 2 Ltr. bottles are made out of plastic, right? If a 2 Ltr. bottle explodes pieces of the bottle are propelled in all directions. I believe, from my science class that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Ask any soldier, I am not one, and you will be told a piece of shrapnel does not have to be big to injure or even kill.

I was playing with 'working bombs' before your parents were in diapers. We also made 'zip guns'. I will admit we were exceedingly fortunate we were not hurt. Unfortunately many were. If we could blow it up we did. You, most likely, do not know what a chemistry set is. Believe me we learned a lot and also could purchase chemicals from drug stores.

You sound like you have little regard for the law and are quite wrapped up in yourself. I do hope you are lucky and don't get hurt.

I am very sad to admit that both of the boys go to the same school as me. It doesn't surpise me that Kenny Smock would do this he is a huge bully at school and it its so surpise to me at all.

jeeze-wow the immense stupidity of some ppl on this forum is surprising me-
1.NO YOU SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED AS A TERRORIST FOR USING A 2LTR WORKS BOMB WHICH CAUSED NO PROPERTY DAMAGE OR HURT ANYONE-yes maybe of the millions of works bombs that explode in the u.s someone has died and that is unfortunate BUT THINK YOU IDIOTS HOW MUCH MORE DANGEROUS IT IS TO PUT A 16-YEAR OLD BEHIND THE WHEEL THE WHEEL OF A 5000 POUND OBJECT WITH A SPEED OF 70MPH.THERE ARE 22,000 DEATHS ANNUALLY JUST IN THE U.S OF WHICH UP TO 10% CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO 16-19 YEAR OLDS. YES THIS PRANK MIGHT HAVE CAUSED SOME TROUBLE FOR THE STORE BUT HECK -MAKE THE KIDS PAY 1K AND MOVE ON. A 10,000 DOLLAR BAIL+B CLASS OFFENSE IS JUST TOTAL HYPE UP. MY PARENTS WENT TO THE GRAND CANYON IN THE 60'S AND THEIR TOUR GUIDES THREW WATERMELONS FILLED WITH GASOLINE DOWN AT RAFTERS AS WELL AS PUSHING BOULDERS DOWN-BUT NO ONE WAS HURT (ON PURPOSE) SO THEY WERE ONLY CHARGED WITH A MISDEMENOUR(SP) AND MOVED ON. I HAVE BEEN 3 FEET AWAY FROM A 2 LTR WORKS BOMB WHEN IT BURST WEARING A PAINTBALL MASK AND WAS PERFECTLY FINE. IT IS A RARE DAY INDEED WHEN A PIECE OF PLASTIC SHRAPNEL MANAGES TO PERFECTLY LODGE ITSELF IN SUCH A WAY THAT I WOULD DIE. SO CONSEQUENTLY PPL JUST REMEMBER WHAT YOU DID AS A KID AND THE NON-TERRORIST CHARGES YOU FACED AND REFLECT UPON THE EXTREME LUNACY OF THE SITUATION FOR THE TWO BOYS.

I set one off a foot from me nothing on. It doesn't make shrapnel it blows a hole in the side of a bottle from it getting hot and melting the plastic. I is not dangerous at all and if it is than vinegar and baking soda in a bottle is too. Ya it loud but comparing it to an m80 is not right u can hold a works bomb and it'll sting you a bit but u hold an m80 o even get close CAN easily kill you or blow your hand off a works bomb is a Bottle being popped not a bomb.. Get it through your heads. Go make one in the woods and you Will see that it's no dangerous you have a lot of time to get away. In my opinion it's just a noisemaker nothing more nothing less
