Gutless is right, the website I initially found had them voting for it - but abstaining is just as bad, while also managing to be cowardly.
True, they didn't vote, but there might be a valid reason for it:

One of the local radio stations reported that they weren't there to vote, they were tied up by "airline delays", but both of them would have voted "no".

How to send radical islamic to their happy hunting ground while laughing.

"Dalton Gardens, Idaho (CBS SEATTLE)– An Idaho ammunition manufacturer has developed a new line of pork-laced bullets they hope will fight against Islamic terrorists – and keep them from going to heaven.

South Fork Industries of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, took traditional bullets and coated them in pork-infused paint to make them “haram,” or unclean, under Islamic law. The company’s website labels the “Jihawg Ammo” bullets as “Peace Through Pork” and a “peaceful and natural deterrent to radical Islam.”

"Rose Ruiz collects $8 an hour cooking, cleaning, checking the oxygen tanks and changing the diapers for a 67-year-old diabetic confined to a studio apartment on the south side of Austin, Texas.

Ruiz, a home health aide to Medicaid patients, has no medical insurance herself. Her best shot at getting access to doctors and medicines for her own needs was through President Barack Obama’s expansion of the federal-state Medicaid programs.

That hope was scuttled for Ruiz and thousands of other health-care workers across Texas when the state opted out of the Medicaid expansion earlier this month. Texas has the highest rate of uninsured people in the U.S.

“The politicians don’t know where I’m coming from, they don’t walk in my shoes,” said Shantelle Williams, a home aide who makes the U.S. minimum wage of $7.25 an hour tending to patients just south of Dallas.“That decision was for them, it wasn’t for me.”

Expansion of Medicaid eligibility was intended to provide coverage for the working poor, those with incomes barely exceeding the poverty line yet low enough that they would struggle to make premium payments on insurance bought through the new exchanges set to open Oct. 1. Though last year’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling upheld Obama’s 2010 Affordable Care Act, it also let states choose not to expand Medicaid."

perhaps you noticed one was so poplar among Repubs he was their presidential candidate -

and they understand the need to keep illegals here to force wages down and prevent the resurgence of union negotiating power.

Gotta keep those wages down and those profits exploding.

The Demos who supported it are just as wrong.

Perhaps we have to start calling them all Members of the RepDem Party.

Jeb - we needs you here. You keep things jumping and interesting.

By the way, in your honor, my buddies and I toasted you with several Imperial beers while enjoying La Gloria Cubana cigars while watching soccer at the bar after the seminars.

I'm sure that paragraph alone will have the US government NSA's "Echelon" and "Marina" programs targeting my iPhone for interception, especially since the NSA's primary location for illegal wiretapping and Internet interception is in Augusta Georgia.

But I'll save them the trouble of blackmailing me, I confess:

- I've actually seen pornography, including "Meter Maids in Bondage" and "What the Parrot Saw" on both my laptop and iPhone;

- I've cheated at crossword puzzles using an iPhone app;

- I've downloaded an app that makes it sound like I'm calling from the airport when I could really be at the neighborhood bar - never used it - the damn announcement says the flight being called is to London - how obvious is that ?

- I regularly read the paper and emails on the iPhone when I should be listening to boring speakers;

- after I was married, and old girlfriend called wanting to get together - but I told her "no way" - it wasn't that difficult of choice, I'm sure she wanted to borrow money - again.

- I have researched how to travel to Cuba from the Bahamas - but I never actually took the Virgin Air flight- I'm just too chicken;

- I have shut off the GPS locating devices so my Wife wouldn't know I met my buddies at the local bar for a happy hour bourbon after work - of course I later confessed to her - she would have figured it out anyway - wives always do.

There ... I just saved the government the costs of accumulating all that personal data on me for blackmail purposes.

I cannot completely disagree with you, unfortunately. I do think there are basic differences in the "party faithful" and what WE believe the party's do/did/should stand for. Those of us who are conservative, tend to line up with the Republicans who at least pay lip service to believing in smaller government, more accountable government, fiscal responsibility, traditional values, personal responsibility, strong national defense, etc. Unfortunately, once they get to DC, those candidates who talked the talk often end up getting "corrupted" by the "system" and buying into the "go along to get along" mentality that the Republican elite (hello McCain and Graham) are so famous for. Thus leaving conservatives with no real representation. And the Republican elite wonder why the Tea Party is so popular with the base.
Or maybe they tell you what you want to hear to get elected, then once elected they know that to get anything done takes compromise. It'll be interesting to see who survives 2014, the stringent or the pragmatic.

stringent
-(of regulations, requirements, or conditions) Strict, precise, and exacting

pragmatic
- Dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.

Hey, Jeb. I'm really not trying to be argumentative, I would just like to make sure I understand. Is it my characterization of conservatives you object to or my characterization of Rep elite or both, or more or what? If I'm missing what you think should be obvious, I'm sorry, but I would like to follow up, but I'm unclear as to what to address.

I suppose that is possible, but I find it interesting that both had problems. And as late as 4:30, both offices were saying that the respective Senator had not made a decision yet. To me that is just CYA - could be wrong, though.
