Chickenbutt, you know as well as I that BillinDville has explained various taxes over and over. It's not what you libs want to hear(you accuse conservatives of doing that, too), so you play dumb or think you know MORE. Trust me. You don't. He KNOWS his stuff about taxes, so you might as well let it go and move on. ALL of us are pretty sick of posting the same stuff over and over. I have stated that many times. I only make half attempts anymore. It's fun until it's not. Some days I decide to jump in the fray and others I just make jokes.

I got an email from Newsmax. Not left or right media. It said taxpayers have definitely been paying for these concerts since 2009. You are right. It should be interesting but will probably never know because
everything at the Whitehouse is secretive these days. I wouldnt believe anything that comes from CBS.

".......The bulk of the costs for this month's production, though - and all others since the program's inception in 1978 - isn't shouldered by the administration, or by taxpayers, the White House told CBS News.
Kate Kelly, a spokeswoman for WETA - the Washington-area PBS station that created the series under President Jimmy Carter's administration and has produced the concerts ever since - confirmed that its budget covers the costs of the concert event and the television production, including the broadcast, transmission, travel, staging, recording and presentation. The White House, she said, "invoices for event-related costs."
Some taxpayer money will be in play through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS contributions via the Program Challenge Fund, but corporations, foundations and other organizations sponsor grants that help cover the costs. Pepsi-Cola, The Annenberg Foundation and the Anne Ray Charitable Trust will sponsor "Memphis Soul."
This month's concert will be streamed live on the White House website, and broadcast April 16 by WETA, and at a later date by the American Forces Network to service men and women and Department of Defense locations internationally. It will be the 10th under President Obama; having hosted 17 productions during his administration,
the presidential record for most "In Performance" concerts goes to Ronald Reagan."

Who paid for the extra security? Also, when Reagan held the performances, how was the economy doing? How about jobs? How about military threats from other countries? In other words, what was the general morale of the country at that time? Was Reagan in our faces with celebrities as this president is? This president is TOTALLY smitten with celebrities.

CALIFORNIA BUDGET SURPLUS:

There's an interesting article on BBC about how California turned their financial Crisis around. Here are a few quotes and a link to the article:

"California is projecting a budget surplus of more than $1bn for the 2014-2015 fiscal year."

"The political deadlock has been broken - Democrats now have a "supermajority" in the state, controlling the governorship and both houses of the state legislature."

"Proposition 30 has been called the "Millionaires Tax" - except that in its final form it will affect everyone who earns more than $250,000 a year.

Four new tax brackets have been created for incomes above that threshold. Those who earn more than $1m will have to pay significantly more tax, backdated to the beginning of 2012"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-207...

It seems that we have a real-world large-scale model of how to solve fiscal problems and govern effectively. Elect Democrats, watch spending, and raise taxes on the wealthiest.

Where have I heard that before?

Conversely, there doesn't seem to be any model that shows cutting taxes for the mega-wealthy, screwing the middle-class, having two unfunded wars and deregulating everything is an effective way to run your fiscal affairs.

You are liked and many respected. This may interest you

Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA)-- The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un made a final decision for all-out action against the U.S. and advanced a new strategic line of simultaneously pushing forward the economic construction and the building of nuclear armed force at the March Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. In this regard a spokesman for the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League made public a statement Thursday.

Millions of Korean youth turned out as one in the sacred war for annihilating the enemy, true to the important decision made by the great man of Mt. Paektu, the statement said, and went on:

The youth vanguard, grown under the care of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu, is ready to flatten even a mountain once the headquarters of the revolution issues an order. This is their spirit and proud tradition.

Keep the work up against U.S. imperialism and the U.S. industrial war complex

Please just admit you were wrong.

There's no shame in learning from others. We Moderates and Progressives do it all the time.

Just plain facts:

In addition to salary and other benefits the guy received TWO BILLION DOLLARS in option and grants. He bought his way out of a federal indictment for a few hundred million bucks - walking away with OVER A BILLION DOLLARS in stock alone.

Amazingly, you think it helps your cause to argue he got less than a BILLION DOLLARS or not.

Imagine how ludicrous is it to base your rebuttal on a claim the the guy fires for stealing billions from the government got less than a billion dollars for depriving patients of medical care.

Even your have to understand that's like arguing Ted Bundy wasn't a bad guy, because he might not have killed ALL those women.

And people wonder why private insurance for medical care is a joke - and every industrialized country in the world has gone to single payer government superiors medical insurance.

By not us - no by God, were Americans and proud to be stupid.

Stop bringing those facts to the table.

Republicans double and triple the national debt and turn budget surpluses into Trillion Dollar deficits.

Then they blame Democrats for not repairing the damage fast enough.

That's not opinion - that's just plain economic fact.

Yea, I just saw a prospectus from a South American multi-national corporation that is buying over a hundred buildings owned by a midwestern state. It's rated the equivalent of AAA.

With the depreciation schedule and tax benefits it appears the annual return on investment (ROI), will be over 9%. Because its a hedge fund offering the maximum tax rate is 15%. The ROI is based on a 20 year leaseback to the state itself - now that's secure.

Minimum "buy in" is $5.0 Million.

Ain't it a great and fair tax system, we all have access to 9% returns on our investments and a 15% tax rate.

Anyone working for a living and receiving a paycheck paying a 34% tax rate - just buy into this investment. Surely everyone has at least $5.0 Million in extra cash sitting around the house so stop whining.

Yep, rich people pay 15% or less in taxes cause they are smarter and better than those idiots who work for living.

It's obviously a fair tax system for the working man.

Damn, I am one of those idiots, I left my $5.0 Million in my other pants.
