I think the Republican Party initially swept into power in the modern day in 1994 and all the pundits were saying they should be able to hold it for 50 years and Democrats were done etc but of course Republicans managed to screw up.
Now we are hearing the same about the Democrats and the Republicans are done. The tide will turn again I'm sure.
Fact is, we'd be alot better off if both parties disappeared. What a dream.
I read where Washington and Adams did not want political parties. The thought being a person would be more faithful/bound to the political party than to the Constitution/Nation. Jefferson and Hamilton took the oposite view. Unfortunately, Jefferson and Hamilton won.
Now we see who was right. The Nation has been shoveling the crap from both parties far too long.

good post, for the most part, but jefferson and hamilton were bitter political rivals.they both served in washingtons' orignal cabinet, but they represented very different views.hamilton was a federalist and jefferson a democrat(not to be confused with todays' democratic party).still,i like the post.

you have greed with me about them forming politcal parties. I didn't say they were in the same party. I guess I didn't complete my thought. thanks.
barring removing the parties I'd sure like to see term limits, which by the way those Republicans of 1994 were all for when the campaign was on. Alot of them are still there. Imagine that!

Agree completely. I vote Republican because they are closest to my conservative views, but the Republican "establishment" makes me sick to my stomach. And hasn't Washington been proved sadly right. Those once elected are first and foremost committed to their reelection and retention of power, their constituency second (maybe third, fourth...). Term limits would solve SO many problems.

Informed opinion you lose the general public when you even say the word socialist. We as a country have been taught to link socialism to Hitler to scare the uninformed public. If they knew anything about history then they would know that in the depression era Germany was the only country that was prosperous under his socialist government. He destroyed it with his hate and at the same time destroyed the ideology that socialism is good. Capitalism is defined to me as greed and is destroying not only our moral values, but our country as well. It will fall just as all the greedy empires have in the past. It's just a matter of time. Alot of modern advancements have been originated in Germany like space travel. Why not a proven better form of Government? Capitalism is nothing more than government-granted monopoly of the american economy to the top 400. Informed opinion I'm with you only we better be quite or we they might send a drone to our house to blow it up. Good day and God bless.
Thanks

Don't worry.

Those who object to our message don't know the difference between socialism, capitalism, or libertarianism, or a short slant pass to half back slipping out of the backfield after assuring there was no blitz.

If they ever understood the illogical nature of their contradictory positions they'd be too embarrassed to post here.

And we'd lose all this entertainment.

agreed, with jefferson and hamilton,it may have been as much personal as political.from hamiltons' point of view- he could see through jeffersons' genteel facade and recognized him for what he really was- a 'down and dirty,bare-knuckles politician.as for jefferson,he seemed to loathe hamilton as crude and something of a simpleton.anyway,it just got to be too much for washington and jefferson ended up resigning.

Surely you're joking.

This from a Right Winger protecting us from the scourge of socialism, that threatens to overtake our entire country by next Tuesday !

Yea, wouldn't it be horrible to cut the War Department's budget.
Damn, we might have to bring our troops home and not give them the chance to die to protect Exxon-Mobil's and Halliburton's profits.

What a shame that would be - how who would force Iraq and Saudi Arabia to sign oil contracts with the chosen monopolies. Why we might even have to - Gasp !- conserve energy. Lord save us.

And as a good capitalist - surely you look forward to the death of the horrible Socialist Security. Those damn liberal Democraps invented that Socialist Security and the liberal Medicare, and keep fighting Romney, Cantor, McConnell, Gingrich, and the gang of Right thinkin 'Mericans who know we gotta stop those damn wiild eyed liberals.

You WERE the dictionary poster...please limit those. Especially the loooong ones. I was scrolling so fast past them, yours and the reply by OMTE, I was dizzy.
Now, your posts are good, but note that we think independently. Again, you will NEVER have such mind control on this forum, just so you know.

How about some facts to support your ideology ?

Maybe explain why, if cutting taxes on the rich, and higher corporate profits, lead to less unemployment and higher incomes for the working man,
yet
every time we cut taxes for the rich, and corporate profits explode, unemployment increases and the working man's income drops ?

Or just insult anyone who points out the facts support the liberal/progressives.

Thanks for the helpful advice and the kind words, but I'm 'cock'-y by nature -- and for good reason(s). I was never WERE anything over here, ever, before very recently. The handle changers and all the imposters are the babbling buffoons as they probably need to be that way. And as to this forum I have already taken the measure of it - by far. It's just another open cesspool of iniquity.
Many already know not which end is up, and what is up and what is down, and what is left and what is right, and this is so early in the game. But the liberals over here are so far left and so rabid... I'll concede that point.
The dictionary poster or whatever that tripe is, again, you're delusional about that one. But then one soros, there may actually be two or more soros. Who cares? Not me.
DIZZY, not delusional. And I may or may not agree with ALL your posts. I don't expect you to care. Not me.

ROFLMAO! But you see, as it is right now, that is in fact the problem. Money, Federal Reserve Notes as fiat{look up fiat as we should not post definions here too often} is credit/debt. It's actually an IOU. It's all one big Ponzi if you want to know the truth. Credit/Debt isn't an asset, per se, it's a liability. Check accoubting 101 to see if I have it right. The only reason paper money is accepted is because people BELIEVE that it has value. But does it really have any intrinsic value?
NO. What is the paper money backed up by? The full faith and credit/debt* of the US government, but what's going to happen with that?
I know it's probably very hard for you to see this, but what you put forward is very similar to the thing about people going to the grocery store and thinking everything will be there for them.
There will be nothing in the grocery store, and your credit/debt card will be only what it really is, a piece of plastic with some numbers on it and some logo of some failed bank or financial institution.
The skinny of about all of this is that the bond market, debt market and thereby the credit market, will implode.
For a much more complex explaination use link below and try to get a grip - while there is still time.
You're living in denial and it isn't a river in Egypt.

Seriously, get over yourself. I would venture to say that EVERYONE here knows what a fiat currency is and how it works.
No need for your (sic) "definions". You're actually working at a very rudimentary level.
