Back in the mid to late 1960's I lived at the Army Depot when I was a Military brat. I went to the Avenue School in Savanna, and made many friends. One that I have always remembered was Jack Funk. He had a younger brother named Dale that was the same age as my brother Ed.

Does anyone know how Jack is doing and where he may of settled down at.

I have searched Google to death for him. LOL

That family is still around that area. I, too, have heard that name. If you go to www.whitepages.com and look him up in the "people pages", you can find people that know how to get a hold of him. There is a listing for Jack Funk in Sabula, IA, but that listing doesn't contain a phone number or address. It states that that Jack is 53...about the same age as my dad. I will ask him and get back to you.

Thanks Holmes. If your Dad is from Savanna also, I might of gone to school with him also.
I attended the Avenue School from 1963 to 1967.

Me and Jack were in the same 4th grade class together and he got held back, the next year I got held back in the 5th grade and we ended up in the same class again. LOL I used to tease Jack that I got held back so he could catch up with me.

I should of finished High School in 1972 but gradurated in 1974 as a result of also getting held back in first grade due to unknown eye sight problems.

I am 55 years old. My name is Mikael Roode. Last name pronounced Rude. I live in WV. now and have always wanted to visit Savanna again, but I am now a legally blinded Veteran with only low vision.

Jim is my dad, he is a couple of years younger than uncle Jack. I know he went to Avenue School (which is now known as Face Makers...they make theatre masks and put on plays there) too, but I will ask him if he knew/remembers you. The family (Jack, Jim, Marv, and Lisa) still lives in Savanna. I will let them know about you. To "bebe" yes, Jack has a younger sister named Lisa.

It is interesting that your last name is Roode...I live on Rood (also pronounced rude) Avenue. Weird :)
