The Art Center is a great example of the Kautz Administrations failure
to understand that if the center looked viable, then private enterprise
would have invested in such a scheme. Now the taxpayers are on the
tab forever. Goodbye Elizabeth.

Wow,$395K in rent, transportation and staffing expenses for 40 students! That's almost $10K per student per year, just for the performing arts portion of their high school education. Maybe they should have asked a math teacher to go over the numbers with them before they started this boondoggle.

Performing arts...

pffff.

Now there's a real credit.

Teach our children to be like Charlie Sheen.

"Wow you could end up performing at the Stepping Stone!!!" LMAO!

They were hoping for a turnaround, in year 2!!??!!

Kids need reading, writing, math and science. Exactly what kind of future are we promising when sending kids to a performing arts school?

The one highlight is that Burnsville parents obviously knew better.

The Burnsville PAC was created as a personal agenda item against the wishes of B'ville residents. We are longing for the end of Kautz (and her cronies) reign...

Tom Dufus unions kill another one. Un-education Mn can't even attract the worst students to try and pick taxpayers pockets at the end of the day.

The market will ultimately triumph over the evil unions who are likes pigs in s-h-i-t. Parent's vote with their feet to get out of the government run monopoly characterized by the bad adult actors like dufus tom and his bandits.

Hear the howls and screams over cutting education and know that it is only a start. But the harder they fight to prevent funding, the more it is the right thing to choke off the beast that is sucking the state dry due to their greed.

It is embarassing to be a union member--it stands for bad attitude, greed at its worse, and self-interest above all else. Thanks DFLUNIONTHUG party with Gov Dangerous in charge to preserve the status quo.

Vouchers, tax credits, private parochial and charter schools only. Abolish/ban all unions and let the competition begin!@!!!

Performing arts are a hobby, not a career. Get a job first and then pursue your passion. These programs just encourage kids to live with their parents way too long. Put your big boy pants on and get moving.

Without performing arts we wouldn't be as culturally Progressive as we are, and that would be...oh wait, never mind.

This is possibly the most ignorant comment I've ever seen on the PiPress comments, and that is really saying something. I'll bet you're for privatizing the fire dept. and police too. Get a clue.

And we all remember Ron Hill along with three other school board members who passed the 1.2 million dollar Envision Magnet school "class room build out" to be located in the abandoned HOC Grand Market store front. Thanks to the newly elected school board who reversed that ill conceived idea which was nothing more than a disguised HOC bail out.

So I trust all of the music you listen to and the movies you watch are created by dentists, cashiers and tax accountants in their spare time.

I know of more than one person who went to Hollywood to persue their dream and they went to ordinary high schools. Just because someone doesn't go to a performing arts school doesn't mean they won't be successful.

Your tax dollars at work. I guess we live in a society that has a enough money to fund a school for perfroming arts. This should all be done with private money. The clowns who funded this should refund the whole budget for this fiasco back to the taxpayers.

Typical republican. They express hate while the foam flies from their lips, call unions "evil", and lie through their teeth. We can only hope that their rage causes a heart attack and gets them away from the rest of us.
