So it is TRUE Schenectady has less! I could have swore the Chief sais Snhenectady only had 120, but say it is 20 less that is still millions of dollars LESS than Utica. Even the Chief admitted there is NO money so changes have to be made. How about a E0 percent cut across the board?

But the numbers are not 20 less. Also you're forgetting about the 60 plus other civilians in Schenectady that are on the police payrolls that utica doesn't have.

And using your math just for the sake of discussion lets say 20 less (which it isn't) those 20 officers are being compensated an average of 100,000 dollars? I mean you're using 20 and you use the term millions which would at least mean 2 million.

We used to have civilians doing clerical work for 1/3 of the cost of an officer but we have some cops who for some reason don't want to be cops anymore. Believe me, this is another reason morale is low, taking cops off the street to do desk jobs that civilians should be doing!

cIvilians would work at a third of the cost of a police officer and the PBA would not be able to force tax increases on us.
So far we have learned Utica has more oifficers than other department. UPD is giving civilian jobs to officera, costing taxpayers more. AND the Common Council will not deal with cutting costs but they have no problem raising taxes

UPD needs to hire 10 more cops and the UFD needs about 8 more firefighters. The city also needs to borrow $12M for 5 new rigs and bond for a new station to be located behind the Aud on Whtb. St. Does anyone have a problem with this? However...Brooks needs to retire. At 82 he's too old to be at any fire scene.

According to the Dinapoli report utica pays more than any city for it's Public Safety and uses more than most.

Read the report don't rely on anything an employee of the city of utica ever says. The "public service" utica offers is probably the worst in the state in a lot of other categories too. That's why they need to spread untruths and try to spin everything they say.

"...Utica spends more for public safety than the average city, at 31.2 percent of total expenditures
compared to 25.9 percent. Public safety expenditures grew by 4.4 percent on an average annual basis between 2001 and 2011."

OK dunbass your more concerned about the grammer then you are the truth of the post.. so that goes to show me that youre spinning more crap and pushing things in the wrong direction.. so back to the facts still to many employes and tax payers paying to much... so stick with the facts and stop kicking the can to something else...
