Canada Day shoppers were feeling the extra pinch Thursday as the harmonized sales tax officially went into effect, causing a slew of items like rail tickets, pedicures, cigarettes, dry cleaning and gasoline to rise in price.

HST (Hamonized Sales Tax) made everyone think it was a great idea but in the long run after NOBODY did the math, the government gets more taxes out of us. How many blows will we all have to take before we stand up and say NO!
