So nobody can say I am a liar, here is the original NPP mailer with the Confederate Flag associated to David Hanks and Derrick Burgess - Two Co-sitting Village Board Members, along with outright false claims that have been refuted on most every accusation made in it.

Let us put behind all of the negativity that amassed during this past election. Let it GO.
SVV, it's time to stop stirring the pot and it's time for this village to unite.
We can't if we continue to dredge up missiles that serves to divide. I am hopeful that this community will not forget some of this stuff when deciding who should hold our cherished seats in the future, but for now, we should tuck all of this stuff away and begin working on the principles promised during the campaign of the PVP.
It can begin with us!

You are correct Enough, and I agree. Unfortunately, there were some here that didn't agree with that idea, and then someone wanted to see the flyer. So I posted it.

In all fairness, I wanted to stop this in the other forum. I made the analogy to getting stung when someone wacks a hornet's nest, but this apparently fell on deaf ears.

You're right - the negativity must stop. Sad part is, it started back when Towers and Burgess ran for Mayor against one another, and hasn't stopped since. If ever there was an example of "What you reap is what you sow" there you have it. But that's a whole other story in its own...

I was at the Burgess, Chavez, Hanks victory party, and to hear and see residents of all different races, from the Village not only congradulating the Candidates, but also shaking hands with one another, and united in the spirit of the community was a very special thing to see. However, even after that, the allegations of racisim on the part of the PVP were nothing short of fabricated, desparate acts and deliberate attempts by the NPP to drive a wedge in the diversity of this community.

They were sadly mistaken. Once the final tallys came in, the phrase "That's what happens when you try to divide your community" from a resident in attendance. That in itself drew a roomful of applause on top of the vote tally.

So, YES, enough is enough. I agree...

In the interests of moving OUR VILLAGE forward, I have taken down the photos from the election. Now is the time to heal, and begin working to improve the quality of life for ALL RESIDENTS of Sauk Village.

And YES, they were purposely left up until the Inaguration and swearing in of The People's Voice Party last night at the Board Meeting.
