Anyone know if it's the even or odd side u can park on this year when a snow emergency is called?

It is the odd side till the end of December and odd side parking starting January 1, 2010.
When it's an even year it's even side parking, ie 2010. |

Sorry even side parking starting January 1, 2010.

Yes correct odd = odd side parking
even = even side parking However, if a snow emergency is declared - there is no parking on the main arteries: Broadway, Ferry, Main Street - not sure what other streets. Light flashes on the signal lights in the middle of the intersections. Any doubts if it become a snow emergency, best to park on a side street. If the parking ban is in effect, you will be towed and ticketed -- very expensive lesson to learn... |

I would love to see some snow, I have not seen snow in 14 years. how lucking you are....It was 94 deg today Its like this everday, Naples Fl Im so sick of this state I want to see some snow....

I'd rather have the sun, here snow/shoveling/parking do not mix, You can spend a great deal amount of time for shoveling all for naught, the city doesn't want you putting the snow in the street, you can't park anywhere, you shovel out your car for hours and get that spot stolen the second you leave it, snow emergencies means no parking on major roads (where do you put your car if you dont have a driveway next city over I guess), you also get the lazy (usually foreigners) that leave their cars on the street and NEVER shovel out their car (some will wait till spring when the snow melts if they have to). Snow isn't as much fun as it sounds, it's actually quite harrowing around here. |

I think the bigger issue is proper parking etiquette. like people moving their neigbor's trash barrels so they can steal the spot said neighbor shoveled for 3 hours.

Leave about 6 plastic kitchen bags (small rock on bottom to keep from blowing away) filled with old newspapers in your trunk. When you come and go place bags accordingly. Most people will just keep on driving. |

Oh don't even get me started w/parking issues in Everett. lol |

hmmm...I never thought of that. But it wouldn't work. They'll still move you have in place and take your parking spot. I really think this year I'm going to be slashing some tires if this happens again. Last year I walked out with a baseball bat and it got the message, but they left the barrels on the sidewalk.:-x I think I might actually make some barricade horses with the help of my neighbors. It'll be a pain in the ass to move. |
Unfortunately there are some people that need to be taught hard lessons. Funny how "helpful" people will be moving a barrel to steal a parking spot but if the wind blows a barrel in the middle of the street 98% of the people will just drive around it. |

I hate people who leave trash cans out to reserve "their" parking space. These are public streets NOT private streets. I will move every trash can, plastic bag, etc. placed on my PUBLIC street. Just try to slash my tires...
You gotta be kidding me, if you just shoveled a spot and left for some errands and came back to see your spot gone you'll be ok with that. Or are you the one who takes her neighbors hard earned spot? |
You obviously never shoveled out a spot for hours and then had some loser think it's ok to park in a space they had nothing to do with clearing out in the first place. It may be public property but the PUBLIC didnt shovel out all that snow. Carry a shovel in your vehicle and carve out your own spot if you think it's ok to just dump your shi*box car where someone worked their a** off clearing out in the first place. |
Eve, with that attitude I bet I have seen you at the supermarket in the 12 items or less aisle with about 40 things.
carry a shovel in your vehicle to carve out a spot in the loser's head that took your spot,,,,

Of course I never shoveled out a spot. The snow miraculously disappears when I get into my car. Seriously, I will say I have never left a trash can to reserve a spot on a public street though. Seems very selfish to me. Apparently I am in the minority here. Does anybody know what the law is about this?
Yes, I know the law, the law of the city..If I shovel out a spot and you park in it..Your tires will be flat as a pancake. How's that for the law. |
boston said last year or the year before, it was illegal to try to hold a parking spot with barrels or chairs or anything else for that matter |
