Rental Cars and Street Parking

So my ex totalled her car over the weekend due to some brat in a BMW rearending her car at 45mph on broadway.

She rented a car for the next 30 days, but no parking sticker. So I made a note and left it on the windshield in hopes that she won't get a ticket, but alas I leave to go to work this morning and I see a ticket on her rental.

What are you supposed to do in this situation to avoid 30+ parking tickets?

Yup. You'll have to go to city hall, explain it's a rental and they'll give you a visitor's pass. Pain in ass.

Yup a visitor’s pass will do it you can get one at city hall but is a pain in the @!!. Would be nice if property owners got a pass that they could use at there own discretion.

Everett mom, it's funny, somerville sends out two stickers and two visitor passes every year to their residents.

Oh and I failed to mention she's fine. Say what you will about VWs and their reliability, but if she was hit that hard in any other car, she'd still be in the hospital.

I'm glad to hear she's OK. You have to be a defensive driver because there are many bad drivers out there now! Most of them are yapping on cellphones and not paying attention.

That entire parking sticker is a big fat NUISANCE. Nothing like implementing a program to annoy it's citizens. Everett's getting far too ridiculous to remain here (unless your illegal or mentally challenged).

Is it me or does Everett have the worst drivers? The illegal moves they make are astounding. I have a son who just got his license and this scares me to death. When are they going to make driving while talking on cell phones illegal?

I agree with you about the cellphones. If you're sitting at a light and count the number of cars that drive by you, at least 90% of them are yapping on a cellphone. Then you have the pedestrians yapping on their phones, not looking, and crossing right in front of you. They're too busy yapping to even look to see if anyone is coming.

I love the drivers who are talking and trying to turn their steering wheel at the same time. Most of the time they end up on the wrong side of the street or lane. Sadly, it will take a major catastrophe before something is done.

You're gonna love the fact that it was the daughter of the owner driving and her 5 friends in the back seat told her to go and she did. She left the scene of the accident and witnesses in my ex's car got the plate number.

If you get into an accident in everett, unless you're critically hurt, get the hell out of the car and get the plate of the person who hit you.

We got a lawyer and I was on the phone with the criminal's insurance company the next day raising hell.

I just don't understand the whole residential sticker program at all! Usually it's for cities that reside near the subway, but we just have the bus here. There's no purpose for these sticker whatsoever in this city aside from making a buck.

NOPE it's not you, I was backing out of a one way street and in the process of completing my turn when some illegal psycho woman rude pig (accent an all) made sure I didnt complete my turn by almost driving on the sidwalk and forcing her way in front of me rather than wait 2 seconds before I could turn my wheel. The stupid hog actually said as she forced herself in my way "AYYYY CRAZY". I wanted to get out and smack the ignorant b*tch.

In many towns each household gets two visitor passes for cars. When guests come, they use them. Believe me, there is little abuse. If you loose them you can't get "new ones". They are renewed yearly.

You were backing out of a one way street? Doesn't that mean you were impeding the free flow of traffic? Or to put it in simpler terms, you shouldn't have been doing what you were doing. You were as wrong as she was!
